hello,

i run a couple non-adult sites but thought i would make my first venture into adult sites. all my sites are just for a hobby rather than the money, as long as they cover costs i'm happy but this is my first real attempt at affiliate marketing, with just a basic wordpress blog.

Header image is certainly on the cards. I guess i'll just do my own thing and come back when/if i ever figure out what i'm actually doing

WP is great to get a small amount of SE traffic with relative ease. Create a bunch and update them... you sill see some sales.

If you can get some to convert cams, go on revshare.

You'll get some legit advice here. You'll just have to weed through the smart ass answers, which will outnumber the legit ones about 500 to 1.

As i said its just a bit of a hobby site and see if i can figure out what i am doing right and wrong before i (maybe) take the next step. Dont really expect to get many sales as driving traffic is not my strong point, even the non adult sites i run only get about 100UV's per day

Your images all link to the same page per post...

Link to each of the larger images already in the gallery, maybe the larger image link to the gallery with a text link also to that....

Same place, boring post, larger pic, more to wank before clicking to the main gallery, more possible click through to more sales :thumbsup

Make a header---and add a personal touch to it... it looks like just any old blog.

I think im starting to get the hang of it. I'm going to post a shite load of content to try and build up enough to start getting a few search hits and then after a couple of months i'll revert to updating a couple times a week.

You're a step ahead already! There are some new people who come here and give themselves some fail forum handles. This just feeds the trolls.

It's okay but that theme is pretty bland overall. I recently converted my old MovableType blog to WordPress and I'm in the middle of updating featured images and removing a lot of the crap HTML. Here's where I am so far:

Thanks for that feedback! I pushed the number of blog posts up to 14 instead of 10 on account of my long list of archives. I thought about turning the archives link into a dropdown, but it doesn't make sense to do so from an SEO perspective.

OK so my site has been launched for a couple weeks now.

Am still to:
1. get a proper banner
2. bring on some more affiliates
3. drive traffic. This is the main one, any tips for newbies? Aside from just the standard 'link exchange' advice?

Traffic can be easy to get depending on how saturated your keywords are.

Don't go for bukkake, try gay bukkake or something relevant to your site. Install the google xml sitemaps and all in one seo plugins. Create a few freeblogs in your niche and link to your main domain.

Keep bounce rate low by writing unique handwritten content and providing nice pictures that dont link outside your domain, use text links.

Update frequently, typically in the same pattern. Google will learn when you post if you are consistent.

As said before, try to follow each photo to a different link, maybe some to the larger photo... You could find people click through even further. Also, maybe follow through on top rather than the same page change could help more people staying on your blog :pimp

Now it becomes a matter of driving traffic for me, which is certainly not my strong point, on any of the sites i run

OK so its been about a month since i launched properly.

* I have a banner been designed at the moment,
* My images now link to a new affiliate page/tab in order to keep my site open for the user
* Have bought on another affiliate in order to have access to wider range of content
* Am trading links on linkspun
* Receiving about 30 visits per day (1k per month, which has resulted in 250 UV through to my affiliate links)


Would love feedback on:
Current layout
How to increase traffic
Should I post a heap of content at once, or continue updating at a few times per week?

Keep in mind this is just a hobby site, so am just seeing if i can make beer money, and am on a limited spend budget

I think banner exchange can create a great drive of traffic. It's effective because as in any sales opportunity, probably only 1 in 10 may buy, so why not send the other 9 to a banner exchange to give you the same 9 back, with the view that each of those 9 could be the 1 that buys :thumbsup

You may be putting all your eggs in one basket though. Unless it is exceptional you will not make a living from a single blog.

Thanks. As i said, this is in no way being done for a living. Just a hobby site and if i can make beer money from it, i will probably start another couple in other niches i have an interest in. As im doing it as a hobby and not a 'business' my investment methods are different, so i try and put as little money as possible into it, and use my actual investment money from my FT job in other areas
