    Price on pirks.com

    Hey folks,

    I've been contacted about selling a domain I own - pirks.com.

    I told the interested party this is the first domain I ever registered back in '96 so it's a bit sentimental to me, plus I know 5-letter domains that are memorable words (read: very marketable) don't happen these days so it must have some value to it. Trouble is, I don't know how much value.

    First he offered me $65 and I laughed. Then I get an email back with $1000 offer so I guess he's actually serious.

    Any opinions on what that domain might really be worth?

              Sedo auctions aren't as visible as they once were. I'd sooner try to get that offer up (maybe counter $3,000-$5,000) and then consider taking. It's an interesting short name but the i will only cause misspellings of it.

              You'd have a better shot at getting more that way than via Sedo auction. 3+ years ago maybe, but Sedo screwed their homepage which used to feature a lot of auctions and now doesn't.
