So what happened about .XXX domains?

Are they cool or not cool?

Thx

Caligari 01-03-2012 04:02 PM

I would wait until they drop to .info prices next year.

.

keysync 01-03-2012 04:04 PM

Depends on who you ask.
Cheapest I've found is onlydomains.com they are $66 which is still a lot but it's better than $99
And then you gotta ask yourself. Does the domain really matter.

femdomdestiny 01-03-2012 04:05 PM

not cool

AdultEUhost 01-03-2012 04:07 PM

definitely not cool

alias 01-03-2012 04:08 PM

Sorta fizzled out.

Redrob 01-03-2012 04:19 PM

I don't have any.

Jarmusch 01-03-2012 04:22 PM

not so sure about that:2 cents:

BlackCrayon 01-03-2012 04:39 PM

already forgotten it seems.

raymor 01-03-2012 04:52 PM

Well, they are trying to make a couple of bucks by throwing the whole industry under the bus, and they were repeatedly caught doing shady shit. I'd call that very much not cool. Right now I don't think we'll provide any services to .xxx sites.

Failed 01-03-2012 05:27 PM

I bought 4 and I'm waiting to see what the new year brings. I've already seen them take an immediate and decisive response to piracy, way more than sending out any DMCAs on .coms. All the fear mongering about .xxx was bullshit imo.

DBS.US 01-03-2012 05:35 PM

People that can't make real money with .com domains try their luck with .xxx:1orglaugh

Rochard 01-03-2012 06:48 PM

Nalem really like them. Then again, XXX paid the rent on his ghetto apartment for half a month, so that's that.

Nikki_Licks 01-03-2012 06:55 PM

I don't own any .XXX domains and will never support lawleys bogus cause......it is nothing but a monetary rape!

HandballJim 01-03-2012 08:11 PM

not sure why everyone is afraid of another domain extension, as far as the price goes, .jp domains are also $100, and .TV can go for $60 each

I like the extension and have a dozen, only time will tell their future.

I did discuss the extension briefly with a domainer who posts on here and he brought up a good point...that the .xxx looks like a another word added to the domain name.

I think the only fear is from those who believe .xxx will outrank their current .coms. Otherwise, no one would give a shit. The same people that go off on rants about tubes and piracy oppose .xxx who just demonstrated that they don't tolerate piracy on their extension, go figure.

well the backlash continues, I tried to purchase some traffic from one of the trafficbrokers, and they declined my .xxx domain and listed the reason as: "high risk site".

I will give them a chance to answer my ticket before I blow them up on here. I will also contact ICM and see what legal matters can be done regarding this discriminatory BS.

Or instead of carrying on like a crybaby, you could try purchasing your traffic from a different traffic broker.

Ever think of that?

I doubt any lawsuit would prevail from this, after all, it is their business and they can run it as they see fit.
And, I would think "They have the right to refuse service to anyone".

MrCain 01-04-2012 05:53 AM

Fuck dotxxx!!!

SmutHammer 01-04-2012 05:57 AM

from what I can tell people who have high traffic and link exchanges, watermarked content etc. the .xxx means starting over. for new companies, it's probably a better option than a .com
