Things are getting tense in the Persian Gulf, which is a crucial oil route for the US and the rest of the world. With Iran threating to cut the route off, if oil sanctions go ahead.

2011 will be remembered as the year the US, Britain, France and Israel went into Imperial Overdrive in North Africa and the Middle East. Will 2012 be remembered as the year those same Western Allies unleashed World War III?

It is not news anymore to say that the West will soon attack Iran, maybe Syria. They have been threatening to do that for years now, certainly ever since the failed Israeli invasion into Southern Lebanon in mid-2006, when they were routed by Hezbollah.

So what is different today? For starters, general circumstances have changed dramatically in the Region. Genuine popular dissent inside key Muslim countries has been used by the Western Allies to train, fund and arm local criminal and terrorist organizations, dubbed ?freedom fighters?, as their proxies.

Country after country has fallen victim to the CIA?s, MI6?s and Mossad?s ?dirty tricks departments?, and other Western-style terrorist organizations. Results range from moderate ?regime change? in Tunisia and Algeria; via horrendous ?violence by our boys? in Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain; all the way to outright military attack, civil war and political assassination. Such as the one in Libya, where Hillary Clinton boisterously laughed when she learned Muammar Gaddafi had been murdered live on TV by ?her thugs?.

The whole region has been set on fire. Not that other regions of the world are not on fire too; however the pyrotechnics used by the Global Power Elite vary in nature in each geography. For example, Europe, the US and Britain are being set alight using financial terrorism resembling a neutron bomb, which kills people off while leaving assets and banks standing.

Now in Iran the stage seems set for a final show-down. It has taken so long only because Israeli, British and US planners are not stupid; they know that messing with Iran is not like messing with Iraq or Pakistan or Afghanistan or Libya. Messing with Iran will bring Western Allies very dangerously close to messing with Russia and China. If I were in their shoes, I would not do that. Unless?

Unless World War III is what they are looking for. Now, why would they do that? Perhaps, because they have realized that there is just no peaceful way of achieving their dream of World Government. Perhaps because they have understood that the financial quicksand they have backed themselves into is so devastating that it cannot be cleaned up with purely financial, monetary and ?legal? measures, in which case?

Nothing beats a good war! Perhaps, because wildcard Israel is so very much in control (or should I say, out of control) that they are imposing the ?Sampson Option? not only on themselves, but also on their controlled Western Allies and the whole planet if need be. ?After me, the Flood!?

World War III, hopefully not

Who cares? They'll do what they want. The sad fact is that no matter what happens the Earth will keep turning, it'll still orbit the sun, and when we're gone we will be replaced by some other life form and we won't be missed. At all.

The funny thing is this: We say that dinosaurs were stupid. Birds. Fish. Reptiles... All stupid. Stupid animals. Yet they all lasted millions of years longer than we could ever hope to...

In spite of all of our grand "accomplishments", human beings are the single least intelligent species to ever walk the Earth. How's that? A dog will never tell you a bedtime story or build a skyscraper. That's just ridiculous! Then again a dog will never actively plot against its own species, or develop technology that will give it the capability to wipe every other dog off the face of the Earth.

Does that make a dog stupid? No, it makes the dog more intelligent than we are. It knows its place in the world. Its sniffs, it eats, it propogates. It fights, it plays. Same as every other species that's not human.

A dog is smart enough to not even try to control something that it has no chance of controlling. And if you think that you - or any person that ever walked the face of the Earth - has ANY chance of influencing the future course of this planet - then you are less intelligent than my dog.

When we do finally succeed in wiping each other out, this big old water-covered rock will continue to spin. Nothing - nothing at all - will miss us. Humans are inconsequential. Irrelevant. We'll kill each other and other species will evolve.

The stupid reptiles, the stupid birds, and the stupid lizards will continue going about their lives long after we are gone.

There is nothing in this galaxy - besides a few expendable humans on planet Earth - that cares if we survive as a species.

This little blue planet will continue to orbit the sun no matter what - or who - is standing on it.

To be honest, I believe that planet Earth - and all of its inhabitants - would be better off if we humans never existed. In spite of everything you believe, we are no more important than anything else that exists on this planet.

WWIII will be purely nuclear. Pray to god that doesn't happen.

Every good fundamentalist Christian knows that Armageddon and the second coming of Jesus requires the Middle East in flames and the destruction of Jerusalem.

Picking a war with Iran could be just the fix.

After all, they are working towards our collective salvation and this is "Armageddon Week" on the History Channel.:thumbsup

Mankind needs some sort of cataclismic event to fall upon us to either sober up, or perish once and for all. Whether self induced or from out of our control, the course the human race has taken as of late warrants a large scale disaster. It can't come soon enough. I'm prepared for it :D

There will never be another world war. People forget that over one hundred million people died during WWII. Warfare has changed a lot since then. Instead of huge armies slugging it out across massive countries, now we would just target the top. During WWII the Allies slowly made their way to Berlin, not knowing where Hitler or his staff was. Now... Take a look at what just happened in Iraq - The entire country, it's government, and it's military were over run and overwhelmed in less than two weeks.

So Iran is threatening to shut down the Strait of Hormuz - again. Whatever. That would be a brilliant move on their part - it would turn every country in the Middle East against them. If they can't export their oil through the Strait of Hormuz, they can't make money.

In addition they do not have the ability to shut it down.

Maybe not but they can make life difficult without trying too hard.

Conflict in the Middle East? NO WAY! This is news to me.

They can create problems of...multiple types...but only for a brief period of time...they cannot shut it down...and would be total fools to make the attempt...but then again the mid east apparently has hundreds of millions of people that are total fools.

As I understand, the Straits of Hormuz are so narrow that sinking four or five ships in the traffic lanes would effectively block the strait for months.

The water in the straits is shallow and that is one of multiple types of problems that they can cause.
