I posted a job on craigslist .. email from homeland security??
 

I put an ad on craigslist looking for someone to do some yard work for me.

I get an email from someone saying they are interested in the job - the email they used was an @ice.dhs.gov

Why in the world would someone from dept of homeland security email me? Is it a sting of some sorts? seeing if im hiring illegals? I ask this because of the ICE part...that stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Doubt they would be using gov email if they wanted to set up something undercover on you :)

I doubt this person is looking for a $10 hour job cutting limbs off tree's

could just be one of those people who seem to do everything through their blackberry - I've had all sorts of emails from people that really should have sent them privately rather than through their work's email system.

I would have soooo damn much fun with that.

"Thanks for the email, but I am actually an ICE agent myself and and conducting an investigation. Don't worry, I won't forward your email to your superiors. Lets keep this between us."

If he's got a government job, I doubt he'll be looking for an extra job that involves doing any actual work :)

The lady they spoke with at one of the fema camps told them to speak to someone from ICE.

I am guessing it didn't really come from that email address. Putting an email address on craigs list will generate a lot of spam/phishing emails.

On the other hand maybe he knows who you are and wants to sneak into your house and extend his penis for free?

Bet is was one of those "patriot" people looking for ads like that, so they could narc you or the lawn guy to ICE.
They buy everything at Walmart, since it's made in China & cheap, but have a problem with someone here trying to earn a living.

Sort of like the emails I get daily from the NY Highway Patrol saying I owe for a speeding ticket. Unless I'm responsible for my cab driver in NYC in 1995 for speeding, I don't think they have a case. Come get me coppers. "I'm on top of the world. hear me Ma?"

Friend had me post a Craigslist posting, for them for someone to share a house. Every answer she got was for someone, who was going to be out of the country for a month or two, but would send a cashiers check from her uncle in Sweden.
Knew it was a scam as every reply had the exact same wording and bad punctuation.
Scam is, he sends too much so they ask for a "refund."
