Best COP Show i ever watched, but i need something new now :upsidedow

What should be good one?

As far as anything going into the minutia and anatomy of a major crime case, nothing can come close.

There was a show on AMC called The Killing that was really good. It wasn't up to the level of The Wire, but I really enjoyed it.

"The Killing" in the original Danish version has defiantly been inspired by The Wire.

The Shield would be your best bet, it's excellent

The Shield is definitely good, but something as in depth as The Wire, I don't think you'll find it.

You might like Breakout Kings, but its still nowhere near The Wire.

Oh also check out Idris Elba's UK show Luther. Still not the same, but its a brilliant show and you'll get to hear him with his native accent.

For cop/crime shows, The Wire was just the best ever.

Television is a lil thin at the moment. Game of Thrones starts up again in April. GOT is Wire quality, and also studies deeper themes than just the surface storyline, but not exactly a cop show.

Another cool show that just ended its first season is Homeland. It isn't a cop show, but it a spy/cia show and it is very good.

treme is definitely the same style but you have to get over the fact that it is not a cop show.

Deep, well thought out characters and storyline, like a novel... plus it has lester freamon and the bunk as main characters ;)

for cops... yea the shield. I recently went throughthe first season of Game of Thrones. VEry Good! If you havent watch deadwood yet then you HAVE TO!

Plus theres another cop show that timothy Olyphant (from Deadwood) stars in called, Justified. Also , very very good!

The Wire made me sympathize with characters who were at odds with one another, who needed things which were in opposition, and that really brought home some of the gray area issues and made me enjoy all the different storylines. I just don't really like almost any of the characters on Treme, don't find them terribly sympathetic. I mean, when the influence peddling contractor dude is one of the more attractive characters . . .
