Do you tip the pizza delivery guy and how much???

Do you tip the pizza delivery guy and how much???
i never do as the pizza is normally cold, squashed or late.

Spunky 12-28-2011 11:22 AM

Usually 5 bucks unless they are late

Jarmusch 12-28-2011 11:23 AM

Perhaps the reason why the pizza is always cold, squashed or late is because you never tip.

zurich 12-28-2011 11:23 AM

You must be a really broke moron to be asking this question over a few bucks. Ask your mom for a proper pizza loan the next time you order.

JFK 12-28-2011 11:23 AM

My Wife took a liking to the "Big Sausage Pizza" delivery guy for some reason and keeps tipping him very well:Oh crap

uno 12-28-2011 11:24 AM

2 or 3 bucks.

I tip everyone! The guy who delivers water, the trash collectors, the newspaper boy, pizza deliveries, etc. I grew up working manual labor jobs, I know the shit they go through, how they are treated, and the kind of hard work they put in every single day for shit money.

Of course, if I was delivered pizza squashed and cold, I'd not tip, or at least not very much. But those guys drive their asses off, put miles on their car, risk tickets and fines, accidents, shitty weather conditions, low pay, high gas prices, and usually have too many deliveries to get them all there on time, I feel for them and feel bad if I don't tip.

its not really done here in aus i used to tip in Florida and uk but here i dont see why i should the service is not good enough.

baryl 12-28-2011 11:26 AM

I delivered pizzas back in college so I know how it is and usually tip pretty well.

Almost always if it's late or cold, it's not the drivers fault and you can probably get it for free...the driver doesn't give a fuck if you still tip.
If it's squashed or something, yeah it probably is his fault.

~Ray 12-28-2011 11:27 AM

5 bucks...

a.miles 12-28-2011 11:28 AM

Depending on the order size.... between 10 and 15% of the total

about a year ago Dominos delivered me a large side pizza with a missing slice :) probably the delivery boy was too hungry and had a bite :) never ordered from them again, and since that incident i always open the box(es) before tipping :)

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh A slice missing, that's classic!

AllAboutCams 12-28-2011 11:31 AM

like today i ordered 2 pizza,s garlic bread and a 1.25l coke and cost me $26.90 i ordered at 7:42 and it arrived at 9:10 i admit it was not cold and was good pizza but waiting that long is crazy.

B.Barnato 12-28-2011 11:32 AM

Depends on the order size. If just a small order for myself then about 3-5 Euro.

Even if it is late, if the kitchen is in shambles you can hardly blame the delivery guy.

A few years ago I ordered Dominos delivered and a girl brought me the one I ordered and one I didn't. I paid for the one I ordered and she just gave me the second one. My friend and I started on the Pizza and she took a slice out of the one given us. About five minutes later the delivery girl came back after finally figuring out where the second Pizza was really supposed to be and wanted it back even though we had already handled it and taken a slice.

Barefootsies 12-28-2011 11:41 AM

Yes I do, and typically $2.00.

Most of the places around here already charge a $2-4 delivery fee before tip.

Bitch at the manager for being understaffed and get some free pizza or half price but the driver is bound by the same laws of physics as anyone else.
...or just go pick it up yourself.

CurrentlySober 12-28-2011 11:45 AM

i cant afford to order pizza, so its a non issue for me... :(

kristin 12-28-2011 11:50 AM

Our order is usually around $20, so $2.

bignasty 12-28-2011 11:52 AM

Depends on if I get charged a delivery fee or not. If there is no delivery fee, I usually tip from $3-5. If there is a delivery fee, I won't usually tip or will tip only a dollar or so.

bobby666 12-28-2011 12:11 PM

You realize the delivery driver doesn't get the delivery fee don't you?

pornguy 12-28-2011 12:25 PM

Ours are usually on time and hot so yeah we do.. about 3 dollars or so depending on the size of the order. If its raining then we tip more.

Where do you order from?

Do you have any idea how fricken spoiled you are down there? Brooklyn, Magpies...oh man....ROADTRIP.

LAJ 12-28-2011 12:29 PM

If you ever plan to order from them again (or any delivery place for that matter) you would be wise to be polite and leave a tip. Your info. is stored and they tend to remember anyway...

barcodes 12-28-2011 12:40 PM

I always give em a fiver. I don't play games with people who handle my food. If you order pizza from the same place more than once, there's always a chance you can get that same guy again. Best to play it safe imo.

The pizza orders at work or home usually come out to like 20 or 25 bucks so a 5 dollar tip isn't bad at all.

CaptainHowdy 12-28-2011 12:44 PM

I don't buy pizza ...

MarkDeus 12-28-2011 12:47 PM

Always around 15%
it happened on two occasions that i didn't tipped:

First was because the driver was rude(couldn,t even drop his bluetooth conversation to say "Hi"), charged me 2$ extra because I was out of the zone and I wasn,t notifed, and didn,t had change for a 20. I say you know what, nevermind. he started yelling so I told him to fuck off.

Second was in a restaurant: We were 4 and our waiter kept on trying to send someone else to take care of us for whatever reason, service was slow and at the end, the girl that took our table was making her customer pay before us in the line. I got pissed, she made us pay and asked "where's the tip?"

Again, I told her to fuck off.

Kenny B! 12-28-2011 12:48 PM

Between $2 and $5 depending on the size of the order and my mood

Bryan G 12-28-2011 12:50 PM

$3-$5 usually.

Vendzilla 12-28-2011 01:13 PM

CYF 12-28-2011 01:16 PM

usually about five bucks on a $20 order.

LeRoy 12-28-2011 03:45 PM

1.00 If they forget the cheese and peppers

3.00 if they have it :thumbsup

sarettah 12-28-2011 03:56 PM

I tip the pizza guy around 20% so our usual order is just below $30 and I give them $6.

On holidays I go higher, at least $10.

My pizza almost always gets here in about 20 minutes, is steaming hot and has extra pepperinis.

If there are any issues with the pizza I take it up with the manager over the phone, not the driver. That has only happened once or twice in the 11 years I've lved here.

.

L-Pink 12-28-2011 03:57 PM

5 to 10 bucks depending

You don't send it back if they forget the cheese? A pizza is not a pizza without cheese.
