Pornography is replacing inadequate sex education lessons - academic researchers find

Pornography is replacing inadequate sex education lessons

Sex education is boring, based on the "don’t do model". In the US it is even worse: “There is abstinence-only sex education, and there’s abstinence-based sex ed,” said Leslie Kantor, vice president of education for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “There’s almost nothing else left in public schools.” . So students as young as 11, find the ubiquitous and easily available porn as their source of sex ed.

The researchers argue that the failure of sex education to address the positive aspects of sex drives pupils to seek further explanation in porn.

Sex is all around, in the media, children today far more than when I grew up or Eva. So being adult and introducing your children to sex education is something that has to be done. Before they find out the wrong messages at school or on the Internet.

You can't wrap children in a cocoon. They have friends, school, Internet, TV, etc.

Porn is getting overrated. The new sexy is the not sexy, or something like that.

Porn is an art form. It brings ones persons vision to the canvas for all to enjoy. It creates imagination for the unimaginative. The only reason why people find it offensive is because it exposes their own inadequacy in the bed room. I say there is always room for improvement and self discovery. That is where the education lies.

All though proper education to our kids about the dangers of the emotional pitfalls is what needs to be taught. The difference between love vs. lust. Ones own self respect and self esteem. But sadly there are situations where teenagers who feel the need to conform to peer pressure without fully understanding the ramification of their actions.

Just ranting....
