GFY runs like crap on Firefox

I don't know what's going on but the GFY experience has gone to hell in a handbasket over the last 24 hours. Multi-quotes seemed impossible and now just normal replies are not going through.

I don't like Chrome, but it works when FF won't. Anyone else experiencing this?

Fletch XXX 12-23-2011 10:42 AM

Mutt 12-23-2011 10:43 AM

hmmm . . . . can you find a thread that you can do a multi-post reply and see if it works for you?

What version of FF you using?"

Supz 12-23-2011 10:48 AM

not sure why you are not a fan of chrome. but i tested it in firefox and all seems to work ok.

Barry-xlovecam 12-23-2011 10:48 AM

Works fine for me ...

GFY runs great, but this new crappy Gmail is running like a snail. I have four frigging browsers installed and I have to use different ones for different things.

MrBottomTooth 12-23-2011 01:06 PM

Oddly enough Internet Explorer works like a charm.

u-Bob 12-23-2011 01:06 PM

TBO, I've actually noticed an improvement over the last couple of days :)

Black All Through 12-23-2011 01:08 PM

It's Firefox that runs like crap

trevesty 12-23-2011 01:15 PM

Running like crap in FF on my laptop as well. Works perfectly on my desktop(Chrome).

trevesty 12-23-2011 01:16 PM

... in addition, other VB-based forums aren't running so well on FF either.

There are only two others I go to with any frequency. One has been really bad for a while now, the other just seems to initially load slow. It is hard to compare them as they don't use the same bells and whistles and have a fraction of the traffic.

arock10 12-23-2011 01:20 PM

mobile gfy sucks cause it doesnt post signatures... well unless its been fixed. I guess its been fixed

arock10 12-23-2011 01:21 PM

And testtttt

BladeZ 12-23-2011 01:28 PM

try http://www.palemoon.org/ it's the same as firefox, but lots of stuff removed.Maybe that will work for you.I used also firefox, but it froze my system everytime I played a youtube movie, switched to chrome, took a bit to get used to,never going back now.

I stayed on FF 3.x and resisted upgrading for a long, long time but then upgraded to 8.0, to 9.0 and then 9.1 in the space of just a few days this week and I am happy. All my key plugins still work and the new-ish Tab Groups feature is a nice addition as well to organize and view multiple related tabs simultaneously. Plus there's bookmark sync across multiple devices if you use their mobile FF client. I skipped it for now until the moble browser supports Flash like the Android defauult browser does.

I know those are all supposed to be cool things, but I hate the last move they did with the tabs to make it like Chrome. I hate trying to figure out where the new page is going to open.

dillonaire 12-23-2011 03:10 PM

who uses FF anymore? Chrome man! FF isnt even in the top two browsers used anymore.

ottopottomouse 12-23-2011 04:19 PM

opera mini on my phone - can only post using the quick reply box at the bottom of the page. any normal attempt at posting goes to a white page on submission.

anexsia 12-23-2011 04:26 PM

I'm on Firefox 8.0 and it works fine...although I see they have an update I didn't know about thanks to this thread.

Well, let's see what a new laptop does for the situation.

HomerSimpson 12-23-2011 05:39 PM

I prefer Chrome...

Lol what's that? stats from 2008?

Chrome is bigger than FF since the beginning of this month

This is from porn surfers last month on a paysite

Internet Explorer 14,802,216 34.35%
Firefox 12,817,632 29.74%
Chrome 10,668,238 24.75%

Firefox still a bit bigger under porn surfers compared to Chrome, but it's getting closer and closer.

This is from a webmaster program:

Firefox 4,646 43.73%
Chrome 2,363 22.24%
Internet Explorer 1,983 18.67%

a lot of webmasters seem to love FF still.
