Those who truly fear SOPA, in here for the truth.

So if you really fear SOPA and like so many of the fear mongers think it's the end of the Internet or the end of online porn or the strangulation of online porn. What's your plans?

Because it's coming whether you create 100 50 page threads about it, SOPA will land and then what will you do.

Paul Markham 12-21-2011 11:37 AM

Seriously let's see how many of the fear mongers really believe it will make a big difference. Big enough for them to look outside online or outside online porn for their future incomes.

Me I don't care as I've made my money and if it does bring online porn crashing down I'll come out of retirement. I really think it will have little change, I'm too old and been here too long to take any real notice of the pussies who're scared of the big bad bogey man coming to get them.

Vendzilla 12-21-2011 11:39 AM

funny thread, first 3 posts I have on ignore

PJ the day I take any notice of you is the day I will give up on living.

You're a nothing, a no body, a no sig troll who probably works in his spare bedroom or living room and makes the rent every week. Yes I know nothing about you, just an opinion I formed having nothing but your post to go on.

So are you scared SOPA will mean you will make even less money than you did, might mean you'll have to buy stuff online or not get it. :1orglaugh

Jakez 12-21-2011 11:47 AM

We're all fucked losers and you are the man Paul.

You do realize that by replying to him, you actually are paying notice, right?

I'm not worried if porn crashes.

I will just join the Paul Markham fan club and sell the T-shirts!

It will make a big difference to me. I will love watching the scumbags of this industry squirm. I'll love it that certain people might have to think twice before stepping on U.S. soil again.

I wish it would go further though. I think domains should be seized along with bank accounts and the proceeds divided up and distributed to the victims of the piracy.

Do you trust such a system setup and ran by the US Government? While I understand and have no problems with the intentions of SOPA, I don't trust the human element which would have control over what is seen and not seen. Our government LOVES slippery slopes.

I do not. But from a business standpoint the pirates have hurt my business far more than the federal government ever has. It's almost to the point where you might as well not have regular pay sites. The government can't do much worse. In fact if they outlawed free porn most of our earnings would sky rocket.

Tube via user uploads is not my source so i will continue riding!

do you think the government is going to do anything to shut down porn sites? why do you think they almost put an exemption for porn in the bill? they could care less. you will see counterfeit goods and mainstream file sharing sites get shut down. i will predict no porn sites will ever go down. if you think sopa is going to make paysites sales increase you are deluding yourself.

Hopefully you're wrong. But even if it's only sites like Rapidshare which are hit then it will still make a small positive difference. The law needs to be in place before we even have a chance at using it. Right now the biggest pirates in the industry are giving keynote speeches and thumbing their nose at the rest of us. It's long past time for that to change. If you're a criminal you should at least have to be on your toes. :)

B.Barnato 12-21-2011 03:04 PM

No thanks.

Barry-xlovecam 12-21-2011 03:05 PM

SOPA is dead in committee probably;

If you voted yes to the Polis amendment you made the law unconstitutional (exclusive of legal speech). If you voted no you supported lawful but pornographic speech and the expenditure of public fund to enforce that right.

Damned if you do damned if you don't.
SOPA bit the dust.
Quote:

[P]olis then offered an amendment that would stop the Justice Department from using SOPA?s vast powers to aid adult industry businesses who happen to hold valid copyrights. ?Pornography should not be the focus of the attorney general?s protection,? he said.

It was a brilliant tactical maneuver. First, it delayed discussions while members of the august Judiciary committee wrangled with how to handle this unusual conversational detour. Second, it put SOPA-supporting chairman Lamar Smith, a conservative Republican whose district is largely Texas Hill Country, on the defensive by appearing to show him siding with the intellectual-property rights of people who create triple-X movies.

Smith said that, although his ?personal opposition? to the adult industry and its products is well-known, ?we need to respect the discretion of federal law enforcement officials.?

nothing manwin or the other big filesharing sites are doing anything illegal. if you still can't see that you are letting your own personal bias cloud your vision, and thus acting and planning on incorrect information.

Why 12-21-2011 03:17 PM

i dont think anyone ever said SOPA will kill the industry, anyone thinking it will help us is not thinking very far. Rather i think people dont like the idea because its seen as the US trying to overreach, oppress freedoms and give certain entities control to hurt other peoples button lines without due process.

Do you really think stripping due process out of anything is a good idea?

Anyone willing to sacrifice long term security for temporary safety, deserves neither.

http://aussieexotics.com/forum/dlatt...569.0.html.jpg

Why, Damian thinks it will kill the Internet.

most of the fear mongers are not thinking deep. The US has a Constitution. Any law that goes as far as they claim will run slap bang into the 1st Amendment. I think it's the first, Freedom of Speech.

I apologise to PJ. He made a great post. About it making no difference to online porn. Please accept my apology.

Now your posts are just silly. It's like your really stretching to think up more dumb shit to post about. You really bring the quality of this board down several notches. And if you made so much money why do you make your wife work a job, you did post that "the money she makes helps out around here" or something to that effect. Why would you need money made from waiting tables or whatever the fuck it is you make her do to support your ass?

Yes piracy might hurt your business. Less places to put ads and sell traffic from.

Yor post illustrates how stupid you are. It says nothing and shows how stupid you are. The reason for this thread is so obvious anyone over 12 years old should get it. So maybe above your head.

Recently we've had the fear mongers and pussies screaming that SOPA is so bad and going to do everything from upset their freedom to shut down the Internet. So I wondered with all these fear mongers, how many of them truly believe the bullshit they are spinning.

If they truly believe SOPA is the problem they tell us it is. They should be making plans for the future. Plans to find a new occupation, or move to areas that won't be effected by SOPA. Well the poll shows the truth of what people think.

Of course you hate SOPA.

Piracy is funded by selling ad space and traffic. What's your job?

So what plans have you made for the future?

No matter how much I have brought this board down. Traffic sellers are the route of the problem. When it's possible for a person selling traffic to put or sell an advert on a site with pirated content. Piracy flourishes. Making the product most of us used to sell less valuable. That's sponsors, affiliates, site builders, in fact anyone in the paysite business. Not just content providers.

Porn will never ever crash. It's been going for 1,000s of years. I've seen porn frescoes in a brothel in Pompeii, no I didn't pose for them :1orglaugh

And there are earlier examples.

Let's assume the worse of the worse happens and the new laws take porn offline. Then all the people who are now getting their daily dose of free porn will have to buy or go without. Porn is a tool for jerking off, jerking off is addictive, go research it. So millions will have to go and find a porn shop to buy porn from. If it just stops pirated porn, the freeloaders will boost legal Tubes traffic.

Porn will get a boost that will make pornographers, those creating or selling porn, will never forget. Those shoving traffic around the Internet will be fucked. They might be able to open a porn shop, most will be gone.

This is a worse case scenario for online porn. I doubt if SOPA will make any difference except to those who rely on piracy in some way.

So who do you trust?

The human element comes in every time. At least with the Government there's some control and it's written down.

Self regulation would work, if the human element didn't result in scum taking over.

The problem is simple. For the Internet to fulfill it's true potential it will need control of some sort. With none the scum take it over and bring it down. Spam, viruses, fraud, theft, subjects that children should not have access to, piracy, etc.

People not trusting this wonderful tool, having to monitor their children, not feeling safe spending money online, having the worry of scum bags infecting a piece of their property. And more.

It has to be stopped.

If sopa passes without a penalty for making a bogus complaint that has teeth

i will simply register a copyright for solution i teach in US

and then go on a rampage taking down sites who copy the "put your shit on the cassette and sell it to people solution" i have come up with

fuck free speech and any fair use rights that would allow you to legally copy my teaching.

If i don't have to fear losing my copyright for making a bogus takedown i will mass mail takedowns to every single person who put up content that follows the design principles i teach

let those "infringers" prove absolutely that they actually came up with the solution completely by themselves. The burden will be on them instead of me.

There will be no penalty for bogus complaints,

thus they will be able to use it as a "process" that can damage anyone they aim it at. Innocent or otherwise.

Just like many bogus laws and processes in the US court system. As mentioned earlier, republicans often misuse the court systems to rid themselves and others of any candidate that they do not want running or re-elected. There are a shit ton of cases where they target a candidate and draw them out for years in litigation on totally bogus claims, draining their bankroll, resources, and will to run again for re-election.

Even if that is the only crooked angle that arises from SOPA, it will be a serious tool that can be used against anyone who is deemed "un-desirable" to the governments agenda.

All anyone needs to know, is that it only takes this bill to pass, and one clever tiny little loophole for the government to exploit, and the bill will be an invaluable tool to propagate their constant misuse of power.

If you only know one thing for certain, which is the constant misuse of power by the government, and their endless tactics of albeit clever but constant fucking over of the people via fine print, then you will be aware of their consistent track record in the direction of misuse of power and laws to take advantage. Once your aware of this, then you can predict their motives for the future. Which means, people shouldn't even have to read this bill to know it's fucked, they only need to know the general theme/category of it.
