If You Can't See What's Coming...

You're blind, in denial, or just don't have the capacity to understand the path we're on.

All I can say is buy some guns and dogs...

Failed 12-21-2011 11:26 AM

I was thinking guns, dogs, and enough gear to disappear into the woods and live off the land.

stocktrader23 12-21-2011 11:28 AM

I live in Louisiana, we're ready when they are.

I don't think I would want any dogs around, they could easily give up your position, although you are on the right path.
If you don't already have any survival gear together, now would be a good time to start....better to be prepared than to be caught with your pants down.

Shit is coming......:2 cents:

You could easily get lost in the swamps down there. Personally, I would not want to go looking for anyone in those parts :warning

I live in the northern part so no swamps but they already have all of the open land scoped out for hunting. Plenty of deer stands, duck blinds, camps and people that know how to shoot. The only problem in this state is that in the big cities you'd have to watch out for the hood rats that think stealing TV's during a war makes sense in addition to whoever you were fighting.

Local police bristle at the suggestion that they?ve become ?militarized,? arguing the upgrade in firepower and other equipment is necessary to combat criminals with more lethal capabilities. They point to the 1997 Los Angeles-area bank robbers who pinned police for hours with assault weapons, the gun-wielding student who perpetrated the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007, and the terrorists who waged a bloody rampage in Mumbai, India, that left 164 people dead and 300 wounded in 2008.

and there is one of the reasons. when every yahoo thinks it's his right to have more weapons than a third world banana republic in his garage how do you expect them to react?

it's an every increasing cycle of idiocy that will end in a bad place and where pretty much every american is guilty.

I thought about this too, if you can't beat them, join them. But, for two main reasons I couldn't do it. First and foremost, when I see countries in the middle east and the videos of the police and military decimating the civilians, it makes me sick. That's their own people. I've liked a facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/SyrianDayOfRage

This page posts videos of civilians killed on a daily basis, multiple times a day. Children's bodies torn apart, torture victims, the most brutal and disgusting acts that make the scenes from Nazi detention camps look inviting.

Second, if history has taught us anything, the brutal regimes always end up on the losing side of the battle at some point. And those who participated pay dearly.

I saw this article this morning. It's not that local police forces are arming themselves because they think society will fail, it's because the federal government is giving them the money to buy neat shit. If you tell me I have a $2mil budget to buy stuff for my police force, I'm going to buy everything I can.

It's a convenient incident to use, that's nearly 15 years ago without anything such as that taking place since. We've had mass killings in schools with well-armed individuals, but nothing like those two, that day in 97.

Giving police military grade gear, armored tanks with turrets, drones, vests and helmets to withstand battlefield munitions, is frightening. The city of New York has the ability to down an airliner now for christ's sake.

The budget from year to year is increasing, which means more local departments will see this type of gear, and better. These are scary times, scary, scary times.

Unfortunately, millions of innocent civilians die and are tortured before that happens. We know this is coming. Obama, supposedly the liberal pres, signs laws allowing arrest and indefinite detention of american citizens without trials, ie disappears. One day you're there, the next you're not. No one knows what you did, not even you. Obama the liberal with a constituency who hates Bush does the exact same thing Bush did on foreign wars? Destabilize and threaten Arab countries. He hasn't even had the time to investigate African tragedies. That clearly says someone is pulling the strings.

do you know how many times a day police departments run into average american citizens armed better than afghan jihadis? people on gfy post all the time ridiculous stories of them and their machine guns.

US gun culture is in part responsible for the militarization of their country and that's a simple fact.

Good reason to not be close to a big town if you can help it or have a good exit route.

Here is a nice little hide out by our mine, just one of many places to get lost ;)

This is what I find frightening:

- The defense bill authorized indefinite detention of Americans without trial
- Our police forces are becoming militarized and we have an abundance of troops headed home
- SOPA with it's vague wording could be used to take down social networks and communications over the internet that would crush any organizing or resistance
- The police now have the power to cut off cell towers at anytime making phones useless

Maybe all of these recent actions are innocent, completely justified, and I'm just a paranoid delusional man. Maybe I played too many games of connect the dots as a kid. Or maybe something else...

I have no idea how many times. I can't disagree with what you're saying. But, it would seem the logical approach would be enacting laws to limit the types of weapons citizens are allowed to possess, and making the possessing illegal weapons a criminal offense that carries up to lifetime sentences, rather than trying to fight fire with fire.

Police with military weapons are just as scary as civilians with military weapons. They are all people capable of abuse and mistakes.

Now that's a hiding spot! I live in a small town, at the base of a mountain where the Appalachian Trail runs through. That is my access route out of an impending shit storm.

I can see how a post like this, and the things being said could be seen that way. I'm rational enough to look at the possibility that all of this is normal, a sign of the times, and poses no threat to innocent Americans.

But, does it hurt to explore the other side, a more sinister side? Especially when history has shown the small steps such as the one's we're seeing can lead to horrific results.

Also ad to that list, the fema camps that have been and are being added around the country and thousands of coffins being distributed also.

Sounds like you are located in a nicely wooded area with a good supply of wildlife...no to mention a beautiful area.

It's just awesome. There are rivers near by, mountains, the Appalachian Trail, good fishing, hunting, fresh water from mountain springs, you name it. It's probably a survivalist's dream. I do a lot of hiking, so I know the area very well. It's a great stress relief to get out there alone in nature and breathe some fresh air!
