This was the worst year ever of Survivor, I quit watching about half way because I couldn't stand anyone on there and Jesus crap was over the top... Whoever did the casting this year should be fired.

I think certain phrases need to be banned from the contestants vocabulary. I'm sick of hearing "I tried to play with honor and integrity." If someone else says they came to make "real personal connections" with people, I'm going to smack them in their head. You're here to play a game, one that involves manipulation and deception. Quit acting fucking holier than thou and accept the actions you take.

Edna hit the nail on the head at the last tribal when she said no one on the jury should be mad at the final 3, because the final 3 simply played the game that everyone had signed up for.

Just once, I would love to see a finalist straight up say that to the jury. "You know what, this is a game. I played it to win. I lied and manipulated nearly all of you, and that's why I am here and you are over there. I played this game all out. So quit being butthurt, and accept the fact that I outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted all of you, and vote for me to win the million dollars."

Well, I also think the jury in the last god knows how many seasons have been a bunch of pussies, too. They've all voted for the person who pissed them off the least. Problem is, if you haven't pissed people off, then you haven't played the game. You most likely sat idly by while someone else made the big moves, and you rode their fucking coattails to the end like a little bitch.

Like I said in the last post, the jury needs to stop being butthurt and give credit to those who truly beat them at the game of Survivor.

How has it jumped the shark? Aside from tweaks in gameplay to keep it interesting (hidden idols, Exile Island, Redemption Island, etc.), nothing has changed from the core concept of the game. It's not like 15 days in they have a McDonald's Gamebreak or something.

The contestants they had this year is good start, I wouldn't say its jumped it yet but on the ski, another year of crappy contestants and over it goes... like I said above worst selection ever.

I think that is really hit or miss...not sure if the cast selection would fall under that category. I remember at one of the reunion shows, they address one of the girls who was like the third or fourth person voted out. Jeff commented on how they expected her to be wild and crazy, but she was boring and complained all the time and got voted out early. They even showed her audition tape, where she was prancing around nude and doing all kinds of crazy shit.

Problem is, no one can predict how these people are going to behave in the actual Survivor environment. Cochran, for example, even stated last night that he expected to be a big thinker, planning all kinds of strategies, manipulating the game, etc., because he was a huge fan, and even wrote a college paper on the game. But once he got out there, he was completely different than he expected to be. I imagine the producers were in the same boat with him, as they probably have been with a lot of contestants.

As much as the casting sucks some seasons, I think it's not something that the show's producers can really control. And if it's out of their control, I don't think it would be jumping the shark. Now, if the producer's radically changed the game format, that would be jumping the shark.

It's a chick show. Doubt anyone in this thread complaining about Survivor is a guy.
