    SOPA Vote Cancelled

    BREAKING NEWS: Because of immense public pressure, the House Judiciary Committee cancelled their vote on the bill that would kill Internet innovation and free speech -- and adjourned for the rest of the year!

    Over the last 36 hours, over 97,000 people like you signed our joint petition with reddit against this bill, and thousands more called their representatives. The Internet fought back to protect the Internet -- and we won, for now.

          Not actually "cancelled" but held till "after the new year" so... might be just a few weeks before it's back on the table again.

                      you sure about that, OR (more likely) congress just wanted to shelve it (and more stuff) so they could start their "xmas break" a bit early.

                      This kind of stuff happens almost every year, shitloads of stuff just gets held over till the next year so they have less "work" to do.

                          I'm glad.

                          If nothing else, maybe some more time was bought to expose these twin nightmare pieces of legislation called SOPA and PIPA.

                                  would be nice if everyone that produces entertainment would go on strike.
