Oscar contender for sure

Unfortunately, in all seriousness, this is a predetermined summer blockbuster hit for 2013 aimed at the aging Generation X. The buzz on Alec Baldwins performance in this movie was so great that it earned him an official "behind the scenes" Hollywood comeback, earning him rolls in the 3 upcoming movies in production: Lucky Them, Ameriqua and the coveted Nero Fiddled.
However the performances of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Russell Brand didn't jump start their careers, behind the scenes anyway. If, after the release, public opinion pushes them forward, then they will benefit. |
It will probably be a blockbuster alright, and beyond gen x crowd they are also widening the demographic with broadway musical fans, musical adaptation fans and the younger GLEE demographic.
Regardless, it makes me want to hurl. The last musical film adaptation I really liked was Rocky Horror, so in general these things make me nauseous. . |
but yet you think the newest baron cohen movie looks great. that looks like total garbage and will be a fail.
|
it's true The Dictator could turn out to be a lame film, but at least I won't have to hear him singing his way through it;)

I must say the thought of Mr. Cruise as a Glam Rock Star sounds ridiculous... but has he ever let you down?
Become one with The Cruise. |
Another reason to quit being a rock n' roll fan ...
|
Ew, really? Worst musical ever turned into a movie? That's just sad.
|
I ended up watching Rocky Horror Picture Show yet again (for the thousandth time) last night and even though it is a musical, its funny, twisted and right on.
So why do I love that film so much and hate musicals like this upcoming piece of dreck? Chicago was pretty good come to think of it, but otherwise these things are a complete turn off imo. . |
