Its crap. Just like the new Youtube. Its all about Google's desperate attempt to suck people into freely revealing their personal information.

Actually, Google as a whole has become useless to me except as a means to generate traffic.

I hate it.

I'm not a fan of it either.

i love it, it even made me switch default view in windows explorer from detailed view to content.

in the upper hand corner, above emails list click on 'gear' icon, there you can change gmail display density (comfortable, cozy, compact) or even revert completely to old gmail look

I hated it too but am getting used to it.

I'm sure it has new functionality, but I want my email unobtrusive, not full-featured.

There is a learning curve to formatting the new version and I don't have time to learn how to make the layout and folders and such appear where I need them again. This is a really not enjoyable change and I'm guessing there is only so long the Class option will be even kinda there like it is now.

Too much space between each email. I don't like it.

I got used to it. Kristin try the display density found under the gear in top right, I am using "cozy" but there is also "compact".

I never switched knew it would suck almost all updates and change do unless you hear otherwise so i never switch unless forced :D

I gave it a shot but had to change it, looks like they will force it on us as it did say "temporally".

Simply awful.

I hate it too and have been noticing a similar style amongst many other sites I use a lot over the past few months. It always seems like the new layouts are less user friendly and less intuitive too.

I assume this style of layout is meant to appeal to the young so it's no surprise a crusty old fart like me doesn't like it... I also don't like the messy hair look that counts as style these days. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go chase some neighborhood kids off my lawn.

reverted back too, could not find simple things and replacing everything with random icons was a painful idea.

Terrible, as soon as they force the switch to the new version I'll be gone from gmail.

google is ahead of time
they achieved excellent functional (UX) designs in their recent upgrades with gmail, youtube and g+. very subtle, low contrast and spacious, lets you focus on content, ease of use and tuning.

only thing i've noticed that could use more improvement is working with filters

It changed? Looks the same on my phone.

I never use gmail in a browser.

Get yourself Thunderbird. (Firefox's free email prog).

It gives an interface to Gmail (and perhaps other email providers) so when you create a folder on Thunderbird it creates it on the gmail.com site.

You never have to login to the Gmail site. Love it. :thumbsup
