DDOS Attacks will get you 15 years in prison
People still think they are "playing" on the internet.
The government is not playing. http://news.yahoo.com/apnewsbreak-ma...203831388.html Quote:
Why wait when they can pretty much watch the traffic and pin point attacks? Small attacks may just be testing for big attacks so why not bust the attackers now before the even think about hitting a government computer? That's a lot of jail time for fucking around on a machine. The internet and a computer are like a rope and a chair : Give them to some people and they will use them to hang themselves. :1orglaugh |
I remember being on 4chan when that was going on. He just happened to be the number they drew out of the hat. There are a few people I know that took part in the event, but there were thousands so they didn't get caught.
It's just like being in a group of thousands of people being chased by 8-10 lions, some people are going to get taken down but almost all will get away with it. |

I guess it's important to feel apart of a group and have a belonging, even if it costs a few of them serious jail time. |
That, exploiting home network routers with psybot. ` Most leave their routers on 24/7/365. ` Shit was cake! ` The cisco 90 series, an yeah botnet with the zombies! ` Those were the days! `

Obviously he should get some kind of punishment but facing up to 15 years of prison? you have got to be kidding me. They just sentenced a DC councilman to only 1 year in jail for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars. I know the kid won't get anywhere near 15 years but it's still kinda retarded.

who has ever done jail time for taking down a website?

ante". What used to be a game is now a serious crime. But in reality, it was always a serious crime. It was just something the government was not very concerned with. But after getting hit a few times on government sites, they have started to see things in a different light. My suggestion to people is that if you are mad at someone then go beat their ass the old way with your hands because using the computer is going to get you fucked up hard. :1orglaugh |
what you want to happen and what reality is are two different things.
even though they want to make examples of anonymous i doubt it will be over gene simmons. could be wrong. Quote:

better get started that's 15 years worth of free food for you :)

Thats what happens when private prison contractors and police unions spend millions of dollars lobbying lawmakers for tougher sentencing laws. There's a reason we incarcerate more people than any country on the planet, including China who has 4x the population we have.

its because their busy eating :2 cents: 15 mins and your hungry again :1orglaugh |

We incarcerate too many people in prisons because we are too soft. In china they will reuse the bullet and if the salaries continue to increase they will make people make their own bullets. Its a very efficient way to keep crime rates low. |

Good, I'm glad for this!

The possible sentence doesn't mean much. "up to five years" most often ends up bring a year of probation. Still, it's a warning - just because you're on internet doesn't mean there aren't real life repercussions.
