Adwords.. Need a little help

I can't afford to pay $2/click for the terms I want to target, but I added 10,000 keywords and bid lower (say 20-30 cents) and can get a flood of traffic. From $50 worth of clicks I got one pretty solid lead and the payout is $140/sale.

So there is potential here- but I can not afford to burn through hundreds of dollars right now.

What I would like to know is- how the FUCK can I get them to display ads for less money? They label a keyword "low search volume" if it is one that would get a few clicks but would cost only a few cents each, see.. or some other made up "status"

There would be a damned gold mine using long tail terms with low bids if I could figure out how to make them display the ads. We're talking about keywords that have low but still considerable search volume and NO ads showing for them.

And quality seems to be largely based on CTR. I don't want a high CTR, really.. since I can't afford to target the terms I need to. So I put the price in the ad itself. But then the quality score goes down and BLAM

Any ideas?

Sounds like you've got it figured out... they'd rather piss you off then let you have cheap ads.

It's pretty bad when the first page bid is in the low one dollars and everything that comes up is wildly varied from the actual terms... but I guess big retail considers one ne customer to be worth millions, and they have them to throw around

The quality score is BULL FUCKING SHIT though for sure

You generally can't run 1 ad with 1000 keywords as you will pay out the ass. High quality score makes your clicks cheaper. I run say 4 ads in 1 campaign and 5 keywords. I then come back and see which keyword was the most successful or more clicks at less cost and which ad performed the best. Then I create a new ad with only the ad that performed and the keyword that was priced good. Relevant ad + relevant keyword positioned in the ad at a fair price equals success. Basically you need to find keywords that mean the same thing as the higher priced keywords but that have less competition for them. If you have everything good nice ad, cheaper keyword, high score then basically you could pay $1 click on a keyword where a very similar keyword may cost $4 click etc... Takes time & money to get the perfect formula figured out. Better off running 10 ads for individual keywords then trying to run 1 with 1000 keywords as you wont be able to keep the quality score up. :2 cents:

Get AdWords vouchers and keep making new accounts. There are a few tricks you can use. You end up making money on Google's bill, without paying anything out of your own pocket.
