These .xxx coins have value. You can buy stuff with them like domains, hosting, video content etc etc from vendors that accept them.

A fast processor works good but a new ATI videocard does better. It has to solve a complicated math problem to get the "coins" which is why its called "mining"

got a bunch of rigs going full blast night now. going to have a shitload of xxx tokens by morning.

Mr Pheer 12-07-2011 11:37 PM

.xxx coin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer network over which users make transactions that are tracked and verified through this network. The word .xxx coin also refers to the digital currency implemented as the currency medium for user transactions over this network. In addition, the name .xxx coin refers to the client software allowing access to this network for conducting transactions.

To track and verify user transactions .xxx coin implements a type of triple-entry accounting system. To maintain a uniform transaction record in this accounting system a "proof-of-work" computer-code algorithm is used as the basis for a user-transaction journaling process that allows a large group of computers across the network to agree on a single consistent currency transaction account ledger without centralized coordination. The design allows the transaction process to work over differences in timing, a varying number of participants, even varying levels of honesty, and differences in perspective among the individual participants.

On January 3rd 2009 the first .xxx coin were generated,[3] and in the same month .xxx coin was released as open-source software written in C++.

Bitcoins burned out because so many people were doing it and the math problems were taking longer and longer to solve, causing the value of bitcoins to over inflate themselves and then crash. But that took a while to happen, and .xxx coins are still new.

Imagine how much coins mined today will be worth in three or four months.

Mr Pheer 12-08-2011 12:35 AM

.xxx coins are serious business. This is serious thread.

CurrentlySober 12-09-2011 04:51 AM

How many do we need to get for the free .xxx domain ?

DangerX !!! 12-09-2011 07:07 AM

Really, today every company wants to have it's own copy of bitcoin and their uncle as well.
What do you think it will be worth if anyone can start a new cyber coin system?
Personally, I think it's a waste of energy and hardware. But sure, "dig" it if you want.
Besides, the whole .xxx tld thing is very shady.
