one word domains always look nice, I wonder if that model knows what her pic is being used for on the porn. xxx page.

Paul 12-06-2011 06:31 PM

Does anyone know why so many one word generic domains go to the "This domain has been reserved from registration" page?

E.g.

http://www.fuck.xxx
http://www.bdsm.xxx
http://www.bisexuals.xxx
http://www.cartoons.xxx

Same goes for a bunch of Cities I tried

I think the same person/domainer owns them all and must of made a deal to keep them pointed to the registration page to help them make more business.

stocktrader23 12-06-2011 06:35 PM

Still see a ton of good names still available. Not as popular as they hoped? Price too high? Registry slow?

Is this a serious question, or are you asking to highlight how bullshit it is that so many of them are reserved for auction/blackmail purposes?

i did a search out of curiosity and all i came up with was that bloody page.

seeric 12-06-2011 07:05 PM

I just watched two separate LA news stations report on it and call it XXX.COM the entire time. They said it's a new domain name. Really? I thought it was an extension or TLD.

This confusion is just wonderful. I love it.

AdultEUhost 12-06-2011 07:06 PM

that is because uncle Stuart has to approve them all, if he likes it he allows it online :thumbsup

do you really think things are confusing? not a fan of xxx but they are pulling it off step by step and in a year with be the biggest force in adult.

don't let your hatred of them blind you to reality.

reserved domains will show up as reserved in whois but will not resolve to an actual site.. domains that actually resolve and show that message means they are "premium reserved" domains that icm has reserved for itself to autcion off.

no, they are not pulling anything off. enjoy your opinion, it is your own. :2 cents:

This whole prereserving thing for themselves, I mean ICM, isn't it a little unfair?

ICM has stated that they have reserved premium domains that they consider premium for their own use ..whatever that may be...selling...deving...whatever...they said its common for registrars to withhold the best of the best...

If that's the case it can back fire, a reg. or parked page just makes the domain look useless in my opinion. A real waste of prime real estate...

The extension is hot today, they should find a buyer ASAP, maybe charge a higher price for premium ones to re-register like .TV does.

The sheer amount of good adult oriented names (some keyword, some generic) still leftover after "landrush" was pretty surprising.

I suppose they fall under the "not worth $200, but worth $100" banner. Which will make december 2012 interesting as renewals come up and the price of those names double.

Specifically, common word, premium generic names.

That has nothing to do with confusion but everything with stupidity. :1orglaugh
