Voters in the city of Los Angeles, home to the nation's porn industry, could be asked next year whether condoms should be required in adult film shoots to cut down on sexually transmitted diseases.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation said on Monday it had submitted about 71,000 signatures, surpassing the required number of 41,000, for a ballot initiative that could go before voters in June 2012.

Solution: Don't shoot in LA... shoot in Burbank, Culver City, Santa Monica, Malibu, Ventura Co., etc., etc.

Also, I thought this was tied to the granting of film permits--they're only going to give permits to condom only shoots. So another solution would be to not get a permit.

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't hiv spread more through bar hook-ups etc. maybe they should worry less about the adult world and look more into the high contracted areas.

They are right, it is "Profits Over Workers Health" in the porn business. Always has been. They are also right that "Actors Need Protection." Because no one is looking out for them.

That said, I also believe in personal responsibility and these people should just stay out of everyone's business. If the performers want to make dumb judgement calls and take risks, that's on them.

Smart move for a state that is broke. Drive one of the thriving industries out.
