I've been in the porn biz a long time. Used to sell gelatin prints under the newsstand in the 50s and then in strip clubs until recently doing some online stuff.

And if I have learned one thing it's this - once a guy cums he stops spending.

This is the number 1 thing I've learned. The number 2 thing is that every days thousands of girls turn 18 and variety is the spice of life.

Anexsia, what is your story? Seems like you are doing alright for yourself. I really haven't dug to hard into affiliate marketing, yet.

I use to be a producer but that became too difficult from where I lived, plus the inconsistencies of models and getting shoots done on a regular basis.

back to digital point now.

I'm really new to the adult industry. I have a full time job but I was always interested in adult and figured I would give it a shot as an affiliate. I just do blogs with a few TGPs added in. This is a hobby that I enjoy and It's fun working on things and seeing websites you have made grow and eventually make sales. It's kinda addicting to make more and more websites and see your work pay off. I don't really have to much of a plan right now...the money I make from adult I reinvest back into new domains/scripts and then hopefully once my adult income grows I can use it to stash away for a rainy day fund or stocks.

Before there were videos, people jacked off to photos. Personally, I STILL prefer photos, but these days all the pics on every porn site is so big, and they give it all away, you don't need to pay for anything. And heaven help you if you spend a second on Google and find all the tubes. Just surf and freeload. Guys can get off to cell phone videos, pics, HD, non-HD, non-nude, nude, whatever. If you have a penis, you know this. There is no reason to pay for porn now, and you all owe that to yourselves. Then to add insult to injury, the guys who ARE still willing to pay, and god bless them, we fuck them over with shitty sites, bang their card, don't help them when they need it, or promise things we don't deliver on.

DWB, you're a smart guy and I enjoy your posts here but you are fighting the inevitable. The glory days of porn online happened because it was new and there were no other options. Even if every single porn pusher on earth had stuck to the less is more mentality a big company would have still come along to take advantage of the business model we were all ignoring.

As you can see, mainstream companies don't always operate on the bill bill bill model and if they do they actually provide value to their customers. It was a matter of time before someone used the lack of free porn to gather traffic on a big scale and this is a repeat of the TGP days. Porn isn't going anywhere, many small timers are.

If there were no affiliates, then the price would be able to plummet. Free porn isn't free, it's the most expensive part of online porn. Remove it and hey presto, one guy using free porn to get tons of traffic is selling at $30 and the same site under a different heading with different girls on different sofas is $15. We all know surfers are quick learners.

Or a site owner has more money to create a site to the level Met Art in another niche. Burdened with the heavy price of paying you, he couldn't afford to pay me. Nothing personal just using us two, as examples.

Or in the good old days of online, when it was too expensive to give it away in the quantities we can today. The successful site owners would of made a fortune. A real one, not what people here think.

This business was once using a bit of pre recorded porn as bait to send traffic to a pre recorded porn site. It's now one of using a lot of pre recorded porn to send traffic to a site that doesn't sell pre recorded porn. And often doesn't supply the pre recorded porn as the bait.

I agree with you in a sense, I just don't think it ever could have been stopped. Eventually some company with millions to spend would have run us over anyhow ala YouTube. We could have drug it out a lot longer with some models that offered more value to the consumer (NetFlix) but people would rather self destruct than change. In the big scheme of things porn is so cheap to produce that using it to get traffic to sell other things is something a lot more people should have considered before being forced into it.
