New Icelandic volcano eruption could have global impact

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15995845

Hundreds of metres under one of Iceland's largest glaciers there are signs of an imminent volcanic eruption that could be one of the most powerful the country has seen in almost a century.

Mighty Katla, with its 10km (6.2 mile) crater, has the potential to cause catastrophic flooding as it melts the frozen surface of its caldera and sends billions of gallons of water surging through Iceland's east coast and into the Atlantic Ocean.

"There has been a great deal of seismic activity," says Ford Cochran, the National Geographic's expert on Iceland.

"There have been more than 500 tremors in and around the caldera of Katla just in the last month, which suggests the motion of magma. And that certainly suggests an eruption may be imminent."

Iceland Volcano Fears Eruption Will Cause Atlantic Disaster

Fears have begun to rise that a huge volcano is about to erupt in Iceland which could a bigger impact on the world than last year's eruption at Eyjafjallajokull.

They are more concerned with the floods that would be created from the icecaps melting, the guy says on the video, the amount of water immediately slammed into the water could be similar to every river breaking its banks in the world :2 cents:

I think L-Pink is right, all those 20miles inland could be sitting on beach front properties, the ice age & volcanic age could come round again.....

It's about time for the super volcano under Yellowstone to erupt, as well. When that goes, we all go!

this is the radio telescope that helps us spot and locate far off planets and ionospheric study and such that nutbars think control things like volcanoes and the weather!

There have been conspiracy theories in the past that sounded equally outrageous proven to be true years/decades later. I don't think there's anything wrong with proposing such theories and asking questions about things such as HAARP.

Open your mind brotha :winkwink: Even if the theory is complete shit, there's no harm in trying to prove otherwise.

You are right: there is nothing wrong with proposing such theories. There is a lot wrong when you zealously believe they are true, defend them at all cost and arbitrarily ignore evidence against them. Which is what tinfoilers do.

Is always great when Professor Glen appears and shares his expert knowledge on every topic :thumbsup

Firstly it's like a REVERSE radio telescope, hence you cannot find planets with HAARP; it sends out signals instead of receiving. It's jointly funded by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the University of Alaska, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Now please put on your critical thinking hat :2 cents:

Seriously though, I did used to write this off, until I forced myself to research and to start monitoring the sky. Start paying attention to the sky, you'll know when HAARP is in action when you spot these clouds.

Somebody needs to inform Al Gore about this "Inconvenient Truth" so he can figure out a way to make millions of dollars off the carbon offsets.

This volcano erupting would do more to change the Earth's climate than mankind EVER will.

Reading what happened in 1783 in that article...they actually said that those volcanoes changed the Earth's climate and cooled the entire planet for a year causing worldwide famine.

Here's a former TV weatherman trying to get the word out

He's put together a collection of weather modification/HAARP wave photos

This is one of the first videos I watched on the topic, when I was watching it at the beginning I was ready to shoot it down, thinking it was junk. After watching it I started researching and carefully monitoring the sky where I live, learning the flight paths etc

Once you've observed the HAARP waves day in day out for years, you are left in no doubt of what's going on. When the volcano went off in Iceland there were HAARP waves regularly going in precisely the direction of Iceland from here day after day. They didn't go in any other direction during that period of time. I've got photos of them somewhere.

Here are some HAARP waves being used to control the direction of the weather, this all came originally from chemtrails and is now being controlled (it's metallic)

Here the History Channel looks into HAARP

Well..apparently we have never caused anything like the climate change these volcanoes caused in the 1700's. Whether our ego likes it or not, the Earth is too big for us to handle. And yes, this volcano can do more than mankind has ever done in history combined.

Just like a single meteor hitting the Earth can do (just ask the dinosaurs).

Do I think we have an effect on our planet. Yes. About as much "effect" as a bee sting to a human.

The Big Dogs of climate change are volcanoes and meteor events that put more shit into the atmosphere than we ever can or will be able to.

Einstein didn't say this. You're a victim of disinformation and simply regurgitating what other conspiracy theorists before you have said without investigation, which is ironic considering the quote about the height of ignorance.

You've missed the point

Though the quote is commonly attributed to Einstein, it wouldn't matter who the quote came from; the substance stays the same.

But you didn't know the truth, because you didn't investigate it. You believed it because you wanted to believe it. The point I made about that is still valid. You search for validation of what you want to believe is true, and accept it on blind faith. No different than the reason you posted the quote in the first place. You expect others to do what you don't bother to do yourself.

jollyhumper 12-02-2011 07:29 PM

In the long run we're all hooked on believeing in what is happening today.

One volcano today and none tomorrow?
Sounds great in our limited lifespan.

BUT, if Katla (her name, the big one) explodes next year, that is like the second after, in the long run. (Compared to the last Islandic eruption)

Get real people, fuck whatever you're able to fuck and drink whatever you're able to drink.
Earth is still here tomorrow.

M:)

I've seen people debating it's origin in the past, but that doesn't concern me. It's the substance of the words; it's about the seeing the wood not the trees :2 cents:
