finding balance..

well GFY I am struggling with a lil something called balance within

my life. As most of you know I worked in the mainstream internet

world and basically my life was lived out of a suitcase ala Fight Club.

It's cool working 16 hours days when you look at those nice fat ass

checks but some days I wake up sayin "wtf". Yesterday I signed up

for some deep meditation and Yoga sessions to hopefully bring

some piece of mind and stability back to me...how long did it take

you people to get use to doing this lifestyle?

As long as you ask 'how soon will I find peace',
you will have to keep waiting.

balance for my perosnal life. When you work a typical 9-5 job you

can squeeze in time for bullshittin and drinkin away...now I tend to

let the party come to me..heh...t's all in my mind bro..I must let it be

free!

Do you ever get used to it? If anything, you will grow numb to it.

If all else fails, quit the meds and yoga, and see this guy.
He will tear you a new butthole.

Yoga is great. Unfortunately, now I find it hard to break away and actually go to the sessions I paid for. But when I was taking yoga classes, I felt a lot better about working long hours. I was much more serene and didn't fly off the handle quite as much. Stick with it...I think it'll be good for you.

I was born for this. Even before I had a computer I stayed up all night reading or something. I think I'm hyperactive. I need to do things like 18 hours a day. I can't sleep. Except for like once a week.. :) I sleep for 16 hours or so, at a random day of the week. Lol.

at least you're not missing out on anything. life is too exciting to sleep and sleep is hard to get out of.

no balance because living the moment is on the heavy side of your scale.

ride it till the wheels fall off :thumbsup

Stop thinking about it and it will come. I think whatever you end up doing with your time willfully and enjoyably is the right thing to do no matter how much time it consumes.

Raph 02-04-2003 06:16 PM

how I understand what you feel ...

balance is the work of a lifetime :p

really though, try different things, if you can afford it, and I bet you can

I hear juicy is offering a 2 hour bukkake class

Yoga kicks ass, I try to get some in a few times a week.

Then some nice pranic breathing 2 times a day to keep the 02 flowing heavy and to get a little focused, I just take some mini breaks a few times a day and that works for me.

The times I get most out of balance is when I let my sleep cycle get tooooooooooooooo fucked up.

Find that circadium rhythm that works best for you and stick to it as best you can. This guy Dr. Khalsa (ref book below) mentions some very specific and scientifically documented reasons for trying to do the 'early to rise, early to sleep' cycle, has something to do with your endocrine system, etc...

Want an interesting read?

"Meditation as Medicine" by Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D.,

He's got some insight that brings the old school knowledge together with an explanation of why it works in modern day science/language.... it's very cool shit.

You too eh? I do the exact same thing. I pass out for a good 12 to 16 whatever day my body decides to give up. Other than that I feel like I'm missing something when I'm asleep.
