As someone mentioned in the last thread I read about this, OWS is doing a fine job on their own. Not sure why anyone would want to waste their money unless they just need a last minute write-off for 2011.

I think the movement is made up of hundreds of thousands of people... and by and large, the behavior of the vast majority of those people is, in fact, just dandy, as you put it.

That a few idiots show up to try and score free food, or to socialize, is just what's going to happen when you have groups this large. What if we got judged as an industry based on some of the colorful losers who have globbed on to us from time to time? It happened in the 60's movements too, the occasional undesirables mixing with the protestors. And that the press, whose corporate overlords the movement is attacking and targeting, is interested in highlighting the idiots while spreading largely false narratives, is also not surprising.

What IS surprising is when so many people, such as yourself, fall for it. ;)

99% run for election

99% win 99% of votes

99% can do anything they want.

Simples.

I for one won't be holding my breath for this to happen.

It amazes me how the corrupt are able to get such a large percentage of the population to back them and vote for them against their own best interest.

Propaganda from cradle to grave, that is how.

It's pretty amazing, isn't it. I used to think that it was just a matter of talking to these people, getting some facts in front of them ... but it turns out facts don't work with the kind of people who are so easily manipulated by propaganda from the 1%. Not sure why, but I know it's true. Talking to them is like trying to argue with a devoutly religious person about the magical man in the sky... you can't get anywhere with facts.

This board houses a number of people who refuse to accept fact over fiction. If you present fact that they can't logically argue against, a Fox News talking point is presented instead. If you decide to take the time (a waste of it, really) to debate the talking point and they again, can't logically argue against it, insults or a change of subject are then presented. It's almost comical how predictable the pattern tends to be.

Those people will never accept that what they know is not 100% true. There is no argument or fact that will change their mind. It must be that their brains just aren't wired to accept an alternative to what was learned first.

"OWS is bad, Fox News said so, it's true no matter what, and that's that."
