Does the internet breed conspiracy nuts?

Granted GFY has more than it's far share of conspiracy nuts, but do you think it's just a product of our times due to easy access to too much useless information or were there just as many conspiracy nuts before the internet?

We get non stop posts on GFY from everything from the world trade center wackos to new world order and fake moon landing morons.

I was wondering today, as I looked through some articles on reddit.com, if it was just due to the fact that it's far too easy for anyone to post stupid shit on the internet. Think it's just cause and effect of people reading too much stupid shit and believing it or was there really this many conspiracy nuts out there prior to the Internet's coming of age?

I can't answer, I think I'm under surveillance right now ...

.

DaddyHalbucks 11-26-2011 01:38 AM

The internet definitely breeds conspiracy nuts.

Paul Markham 11-26-2011 01:39 AM

No.

Mums and Dads breed. LOL

kane 11-26-2011 01:42 AM

I don't think it breeds them, but it does give them a place to more easily find and share information with others so it helps encourage them that is for sure.

I used to work with a guy that was a major conspiracy nut. Everyday he would talk about what was going on in the "real" news and how he was building a shelter. He would talk about how his daughter was in school and he would help her with her history assignments then take her to the internet and teach her "the truth" about what she was learning.

He would talk about how the internet made getting the truth out there so much easier.

cam_girls 11-26-2011 02:52 AM

Nah I only started posting about Genesis Adam because The Truman Show started sonic torture non stop and set up Eve against me.

You guys may think you are using reason and we are not, but that's not the case at all!

Your "REASON" is merely "We are right you are wrong".

Your only SCIENCE is OCCAMS RAZOR - ignorance in the guise of logic.

Poindexterity 11-26-2011 03:32 AM

yup.
Nothin but crazy tuskeegee whackjobs and tin foilt hat wearing MK-ultra dumbasses.

The internet breeds revelations, hell even revolutions.

I honestly think that a certain percentage of the population is complete idiots. I mean retarded. My friend John is such a case - He has water on the brain (Hydrocephalus), and his brain stopped developing at about age sixteen or so. Basically he's a forty-five year old man who mentally is a sixteen year old. On the surface he's perfectly normal until you talk to him for more than ten minutes and you discover how shallow he is - He can only talk about his last marriage or working at the post office and that's it. I think there is a lot of people who operate like this, where they seem like perfectly normal people, but the truth is that they are mentally retarded to a degree that surprises us.

My point is there are some very dumb people in the world, and they tend to believe anything they read.

There might be some truth to this. In high school - In the US - I was taught that in the mid 1940s the US stormed the beaches at Normandy, won the war, and saved the world from the evil Nazi empire. I've since become a huge WWII buff and I've discovered that what we were taught was completely wrong - by the time the US landed in Europe the war was pretty much over.

Actually you broke it.

Edit: Nvm. I misread what he wrote. Maybe he also edited "complete idiots" from "completely stupid".

Edit 2: I still think "is" should follow "population" though, just not with "complete idiots".

Your "conspiracy nuts" are the ones with the questions.
Don't mind them. Just follow along to get along :2 cents:

cam_girls 11-27-2011 11:11 PM

Every time you post in a thread that I do, 20 agents in a secret level of the Pentagon use LEO Satellite MASERS pointed at your skull and tune into the vibrations of your thought coming out of your voicebox at micro volumes.

They can implant any question into your mind via your ear canal in 1/10TH second with compressed phonetics and listen to your memory trace, a 100 word confession on any topic of anything you've ever done in your life spoken through your voice box subconsciously in sped up phonetics in a fraction of a second!

They tune into all major media studio broadcasts, and can manipulate what is said or played on any TV or radio station in the world real time, and if it doesn't say what they want they can override the signal and voice over it.

They probably found Osama Bin Laden within 10 minutes using the 100s of LEO Satellites micro sound scanning and sound pulse broadcasting.

They can talk to you in your dreams, interacting with whatever dream you are having, they can implant HATE and ABUSE into any person you are in hearing range of. They can brainwash entire cities. They can make you see in 2D or 3D and switch between, they can ventriloquist any voice from anywhere. they can knock you to the floor with nausea or headaches, and a 2 level deep underground carpark doesn't stunt the effect, from MASERS 500 miles high.

That's 1 of 26 Conspiracies I've logged, one of the tamer ones... all 100% true.

BIGTYMER 11-27-2011 11:18 PM

Roswell man... Roswell.

"They"* use the internet to feed false conspiracies to hide the real ones...

Theses false conspiracies are popular because people are able to understand that something goes wrong, but they don't have the good words (a good mental rigor) to explain it, so it makes people believe in crappy theories...

For me there is something wrong somewhere, but i'm unable to explain what and how...

edit:

"they": those with a political interest to feed a given point of view.

Do you think that guy is wrong with his interpretation of this particular music video?
