Nikki, you're asking if they're legal. Then you go on to say that they're stealing all your content. I have to guess what they're doing is legal until someone puts a stop to it. What the internet is saying is this: "Fuck you. Everything you've ever done is public domain, and will remain free forever."

It breaks my heart that you're upset. I've loved you for a long time in a long-distance, non-threatening (I hope!) kind of way.

The internet is like the Wild West, but there's no authority with big enough balls to reign it in. Reigning it in might not even be a possibility now.

The internet is out of control, and its not getting better. The majority of what IS here is actually not very good. I may make my living on the internet, but its a really shitty place to be.

I feel for you... I think I love you...

I do not mean to belittle your concerns with a cheap Youtube video but - right now - this is basically what you're dealing with: The wholesale theft of every thing you've ever made - and everything you will ever make in the future. Not to mention patronizing idiots (like me) who'll suck up to you with the faint hope that we can actually make you feel a little better.

I've enjoyed reading your posts, watching your vids, and viewing your pics. You deserve better.

That is not so anymore with xvideos. They're the only adult tube that has free youtube style digital fingerprinting program and it works surprisingly well. When they recieve DMCA, they fingerprint that video now and it will NOT appear again at their site.

It is possible to block your videos from appearing at xvideos, follow the steps described below:

1. Contact them through this form:
http://support.xvideos.com/takedown/

submit all infringing links that you have found, and add that you want those videos fingerprinted. They'll take them down and fingerprint them, which will block those particular clips from ever appearing again.

2. If you know who's posting your vids, contact them using the same contact form:
http://support.xvideos.com/takedown/

at the bottom there's the box where you can describe that repeat offender - they usually add new watermarks to your videos that's how you can single them out. If there's enough evidence of repeat infringing (provide enough description so they can make sure), xvideos will ban that account or at least warn the uploader to leave you alone.

3. Contact them to fingerprint your whole content library:
http://info.xvideos.com/content/contact/

Submit your member zone URL and username/password to they can access it. They'll harvest all videos and add them to their DFP library. That will stop next to 100% of infringment cold, but it will not happen overnight, that work takes time to complete, up to several months.

They'll NOT start posting your videos left and right, so you can submit u/p to them safely. I was a bit uncomfortable with that at first, but in the end it all worked as planned - our whole content library was fingerprinted, and we were seeing LESS of our clips posted at xvideos every day, not more.

4. Make sure your videos have HUGE visible logo - if your older videos do not have it, add it to at least your newest ones. When they know you, and familiar with your logo, they will not let upload of your video through even if it escapes fingerprinting (for example if that is your most recent update that wasn't fingerprinted yet).

5. When they're finished fingerprinting, contact them to scan their whole library and remove all clips that were posted previously. In theory they'll do it anyway, but in practice it wouldn't hurt to remind.

With the help of what is described above, it is more than possible to get rid of infringment at xvideos almost completely. It will take some of your time, but it is very well worth it, since they're the biggest adult tube around - alot of lesser tubes are scraping them for updates, and you can take care of those too with one blow.

You can also try their "channels" system to promote your site. When you're not competing with your own uncut videos uploaded by some sick fuck the same day, it may work.

Just send them professionally formatted DMCA(s) when necessary, they HAVE to reply and remove links. Do not engage on a personal level, there's no point in it. There are literally thousands of piracy sites out there, if you're going to worry about personal attitudes for all of them, you'll earn yourself a tremor.

That said, with us they've always been reasonably polite and responsive. Not that it matters much anyway, as long as they remove (which they do).

LOL. Now it make sense why lots of videos have lame watermarks with "grow your penis urls".

Interesting - I didn't know this. I posted (and encouraged) their solution on Xbiz about a year ago and multiple people told me that they were simply off-shooting it to Vobile. I'll see if I can get someone to dig up who was posting on there saying it was FSC/Vobile running the show there.

I also had mutiple shooters state "we're not giving them access to our content library". I can see why people are hesitant but if they (Xvideos) are indeed utilizing content identification on-site, I retract talking shit about it as that's the way to go - following the youtube/myspace setup. It doesn't mean I like or desire a reach-around from them, however, does give us more information which is really good. :thumbsup Thanks!

HighlyIntoxicated 11-24-2011 01:37 PM

From what I've seen, a lot of the longer videos, 22mins etc, are uploaded by a user, who puts a watermark on the video somewhere telling peoiple to go to his site. Most the time, that site is linked directly to the affiliate program that the videos came from.

If that's the case here, find out what his user id is and shut him down/find his contact info and threaten legal action.

Xvideos does not get the same level of attention and criticism that the Manwin tube sites do. It seems like xvideos puts up about 20 pages of tube links up each day. Years ago, I sent Wicked Pictures Public Relations person a list of tube links of Wicked Pictures movies. She showed thanks by sending me free DVDs. I was told that many tube links, on my list, were authorized by Wicked Pictures. She did not say which ones but I believe the under 6 minutes videos on xvideos were what she was referring to. I was told that I found videos that Wicked Pictures did not know about.

I had thought that Wicked Pictures was a rare exception so it surprised me when I found out that many other companies have done the same thing. I think that allowing videos, to be on these sites, legitimizes the tube sites. On another forum in 2005, Aiden (of Evil Angel) was criticizing avfantasy.com for having a huge number of screenshots for each movie. Aiden worried that people would masturbate to the screenshots rather then buy porn movies. There are companies that will allow up to 10 minutes of a scene to be shown. Entire sex scenes frequently fell under 10 minutes in the '70s and '80s! Things are so much worse then when Aiden was complaining.

In the comic book industry, a number of big companies got the htmlcomics website closed down. Unlike the porn industry, they did not advertize on it. The htmlcomics owner made himself vulnerable by refusing to taking things down. His defense was that that he said his website was a library. On comic book forums, there were a signicant number of people defending his website. This reminded me of people defending piracy on porn forums.
