Would you promote a .xxx porn site?

Would you promote a .xxx porn site?

The way to kill .xxx is to agree not to promote .xxx sites, or indeed any sites on a network, even if only one site is a .xxx.

By doing so it will make it pointless for big name firms to buy .xxx as they will not want people to stop promoting them.

But will you agree to to promote them?

biskoppen 11-18-2011 06:41 PM

Very good idea right there.. would be the perfect way to punish people supporting this craziness

well thats it.

ages ago a chap from the uk changed his site to a .xxx. i presume he got it given to him. i no longer promote that site, and i lost all respect for him. to me his interest is in who greeses his hand. the worst thing is he goes on uk tv claiming he represents the uk porn biz. i just hope he no longer does that as he does not represent me.

2intense 11-19-2011 12:28 AM

nope....

Spunky 11-19-2011 12:32 AM

No I wouldn't

The Sultan Of Smut 11-19-2011 01:12 AM

Nope. There's plenty of other domains to promote so this is an easy stand to take.

Ramirez 11-19-2011 02:25 AM

No i wouldn't promote .xxx

ages ago ? xxx is quite new.

And whatever results you would get, forget it.
People will promote anyone that makes them money no matter what they say on the boards.
Plenty of cases in the adult history showing that.

Jack Sparrow 11-19-2011 05:10 AM

Everyone will when it makes THEM money, always been like that in the adult biz.
Everyone is against something or someone, but when they are able to make you more then anyone else morals fade like snow in the summer.

AllAboutCams 11-19-2011 05:13 AM

yes i would stop bitching

Matyko 11-19-2011 05:39 AM

Fletch XXX 11-19-2011 06:59 AM

Avalana 11-19-2011 07:16 AM

site is site, doesn't matter on the tld

MrCain 11-19-2011 07:35 AM

I already blocked Grooby galleries and blogs because they bought shemale.xxx.

cooldude7 11-19-2011 07:38 AM

it means no fucking way.

marlboroack 11-19-2011 08:44 AM

Your loss - it's converting for affiliate traffic at between 1:200 and 1:300 - which has absolutely nothing to do with the tld but the fact we've created one of the best transsexual sites out there with http://www.shemale.xxx
More sales for our affiliates who are promoting it and in this somewhat stagnant market we're one of the few companies that is proactive on quality new sites, regardless of what domain name or tld they are on. http://www.black-shemale-hardcore.com launched a few months ago doing similar ratios.

Thanks for the feedback though.

Steven, if conversions have nothing to do with the TLD, then why did you allegedly spend $200k on Shemale.xxx and why didn't you use that money to build your self-proclaimed best transsexual site on a .com domain and make it even better?

And hell no, I'm not going to promote any sponsor who supports .XXX

Freaky_Akula 11-19-2011 06:34 PM

Of course not. There is no doubt in my mind that a program that is willing to fuck the industry by funding the ICM registry, will one day decide to fuck its affiliates.

Not necessarily ... I would make more money with piracy or card banging programs but choose not to as I think it is both wrong and short sighted.

I view both as parasites in this industry as well as .XXX.

ruff 11-19-2011 07:34 PM

I'm not promoting any .xxx site. Com is king and always will be.

I see you're posting from your phone too. TLDs not a part of a domain always auto correct. Drives me bonkers.

I said they had nothing to do with the tld. I do believe the domain name has and will help, because it is so specific to our niche.

DVTimes 11-20-2011 08:13 AM

so far 36 say no.

thats good.

EukerVoorn 11-20-2011 08:18 AM

I'm already promoting lezpoo.xxx

these issues are delicate balance between personal opinion and business ethics.

as a designer of thousands of adult site ads we understand the concern and justified apprehensiveness regarding this topic.

I understand. Personally, I don't own one, don't really have interest in it so Ive stayed out of the entire ordeal to be honest. .xxx whatever .anal has zero to do with me or anything I do. And in effect, by me not buying or engaging inn discussion of ICANN/TLD/.xxx debates Im not contributing to the growth or promotion of the tld.

I don't like McDonalds, so I don't eat there. But Im not going to tell other people where to eat.

Paul Markham 12-03-2011 09:50 AM

Once ISPs and mobile phone carriers start to block .xxx it's dead in the water and all those who spent time promoting them will have wasted their time.

You obviously haven't noticed the modern version of going on strike.

SmokeyTheBear 12-03-2011 09:58 AM

we went through this when aff was cutting out its own affiliates and when .xxx was being approved and a few other issues. The adult industry has no voice, without any clear rules or guidance , it won't work..

in thew uk if you sign up for broadband now i belive you have to opt in for porn, and i know on my mobile phone they ask you for your credit card details before you can view.

its not somthing that could happen, its being done right now.

but .xxx makes it so much easer to block.

if the gov had a vote to make eating at mcdonalds mandatory. if you do not participate , it could become mandatory. By not participating , wouldn't you essentially be supporting it ?

As I have stated already, I understand the threat and delicate nature of the topic. Even going as far as stating, as an artist, I understand the government censorship and sensitivity of content not intended for minors to be available to adults on the internet.

I get it. I am not registering nor promoting a .xxx porn site. What else i gotta do, set something on fire? LOL

i didnt vote yes for .xxx nor could I stop it :warning

I was talking about this the other day with a tattoo artist refusing to do "christian" themed pieces, anyone who worked in the service industry knows, you leave your opinions at the door and provide service for client.

Add Clips 4 Sale to the list of sponsors on the .XXX blacklist. They allegedly spent $700k on 30 .XXX domains including one for $300k and 2 for $80k. If you want the details, do a search, I'm not going to help ICM by linking to them. However, those douchebags need more spam.

Step into the delorian and go back a few years to start another poll.... would you promote a sponsor that gives away full length content on tubes.

Keep an eye out though so that you don't miss the boat.

Like it should in a market economy. No one hates .xxx, we hate the idea of being overcharged for the domains. Would you even care if they were 9 bucks a piece?

DVTimes 12-07-2011 09:27 AM

lets hope people stick to this
