Over the years as this business has gotten tighter and more competitive, I think that a lot of the cronyism has drifted as individuals/companies have found themselves fighting for actual business and money instead of "best friends."

Definitely isn't true around Tampa. In my neighborhood, there's a Publix. I love them, personally.

The thing about Publix is they seem to have one every two miles of various sizes.

I have four of them within a 10 minute drive of me. Of course 10 minutes is a half of a mile it seems... we love our red lights, stop signs and speed humps.

They aren't only in the ghetto. They are the dominant store here.
