Very interesting...

So it seems that only some threads are designated as "announcements" and segregated while others are not.

Sadly, we're not at all surprised :disgust

I could be wrong but I think if you're not a board sponsor, anything considered an announcement post is moved...

I'm sure someone will clarify.

Yep, I think you're right. Board sponsors get the sticky threads in the main forum

That sounds like the equivalent of (way back) when MySpace killed (external) linking = business suicide and the beginning of the end for them!

We stopped posting much on the boards except mostly for business but now it seems pointless to even do that.

( sigh ) their board / their choice

I've made a few posts in the past labelled [OTA]Blah Blah Blah and they weren't removed. I would never expect them to be stickied, but my (very few) "one time announcements" were never deleted.

Of course you have to pay for a sticky post. WTH?

Same exact thing here, SBC and the ppl associated with our program only post here every so often and have never (until today) been flagged and segregated to a lame sub-folder.
Just like you, we've never asked or expected to be stickyed - but removed? Please! Still can't believe it :ugone2far

So you should get to make announcement threads spamming your shit the same as paying advertisers?

Fuck off.

Very professional and well thought-out response - you should be proud.

Nonsense, rather it's interesting that no announcements have been removed until now. it's one thing to limit big sigs, contests, etc to advertisers and rightly so. But, having looked at the rules (today) I see nowhere where it states that announcements or threads deemed announcements will be moved to a separate section. It may in fact be there, somewhere, but I didn't see it and if thats the case then so be it. I won't lose any sleep over it.

Announcements
Not an advertiser on GFY? Launching a new promo for your affiliate program? Announcing a new site in your program? Spam your program announcements here. All event announcement should also be posted in the Announcements forum.

If everyone got the same privileges as paying advertisers isn't that a bit of a slap in the face for the companies who support GFY by buying ads?

Terrific, it wouldn't hurt to post a blurb about it in here either: GFY Rules and Regulations

I suspect it had a lot to do with the fact that "XBIZ Awards" was in the title. Congrats on the nomination.

Under #2, SIG SPAMMING:

Quote:

No SIG spamming. Posting with intent of only to drawing attention to you sig with either text or an image will be considered SPAM. This type of spam will generate a warning, second violation will result in a ban. Abuse will not be tolerated. You want to announce something you are selling, put it in the Buy and Sell forum. You are announcing something for your program put it in the Program Announcement section.
I thought it used to say something about "one time program announcements" being allowed, but I don't see it anymore.

I'm not trying to be a dick but you're not an active board member or advertiser and you see an issue with the mod's moving your thread to the appropriate section, where it should have been in the first place?

Of course not Kenny, I hadn't seen it before and raised the question is all. I definitely know now though! :thumbsup
