Need advice on good HD video camera for POV site

Hi, I would appreciate any input on a good hd video camera that would be suitable to use if you want to do a pov site. I only have experience from the affiliate side of the biz and a little photography as well. I have a canon 60D now so I think this is definitely good enough for pictures, but the question is which camera to use to shoot the scenes?

My budget is around 3, maybe max 4k, for this camera.
Since the site is supposed to be amateur style, but it does not mean the quality itself should be too crappy on the content of course.

I have a friend in the biz that has experience from paysites and contacts with models but she will not be there, only help me with the arrangements and stuff from where she lives. I will probably need an assistant as well.

I thought about these 2 cameras for example:

Or this:

About the lenses, it is very hard to shoot good scenes without wide angle lens but at the same time it can make the girls look not perfect I think..maybe try to go for a camera with a big sensor, the NEX 20 has gotten some hype and good comments about its sensor it seems.

Well any advice is appreciated, thanks.

My buddy has the VG10 and really likes it.

Another friend has a Canon Vixia and raves about it as well.

You think this can do pretty much the same job as a cam for 2k+ more? You pay more for the details and filming in certain cirumstances more than the change of quality itself?

Do a test. You might be surprised. The GS2 is nice.

Looks really nice man. Maybe I better save those other 2-3k I thought to spend on a camera and use it to pay models etc instead and settle with this..or the HV 40 probably since I can not find a store that sells the HV 30 still here, but according to reviews the HV 40 should be same quality or better.

3 or 4K?

Spend $700 and get a Vixia SF10. Or whatever's comparable in the Canon line...they might be up another number or two.

Manojob, MrPOV, and TheDicksuckers -- all shot on that camera. It's great.

Thanks. Bought the HV (my 2nd one) off CL for next to nothing in semi-mint condition.

Yeah I don't doubt it. Quality looks great really now when I have checked some samples, thanks.

So that makes me wonder who are using the more expensive video cameras, and also when to use it?
Is it a lot of times just pretentious to buy a cam for 3-4k or if I would have done shooting for a glamour site for example, would it have been more justified if you can play with settings more and you need to use the light better etc..?

the more expensive cams will have better sensors and more manual controls. a lot of guys get caught up in using high end cameras when it's more about what's going on in front of the camera that matters most.

you can shoot an amazing video with an iphone that goes viral and you can shoot a shitty video with a $10K cam that you can't even give away.

all the new pics on both of my sites are screen grabs from the Vixia.
