my mate says that ww3 has happened.

the theory is that due to the bomb ussr and usa could not directly go to war, so the wars were fought via vietam and afganistan.

the theory is that usa supplied affganistan with millises that took out all ussr planes, in effect bringing an end to ussr.

They are called proxy wars and hardly qualify as a world war.

People throw around the term "world war three" too easily without understanding what is involved. It would have to involve multiple fronts, dozens of countries, and millions of men under arms. Tens of millions of people would die - During WW2 it's estimated that between fifty million and seventy million people died.

I honestly don't believe we'll see another "world war". Modern day wars (by modern military forces) are too quick. It took the Allies five years to get to Berlin, but it only took the US thirty days to have troops in Baghdad. It's no longer about military forces slugging it out, but instead about quickly taking out the top leadership of the enemy.

some military theorists refer to the cold war as ww3 and the current war against terror as ww4.

WW3 is ongoing it started with the attack on Serbia and is continuing to attack and destroy all sovereign nation states in order to create a world dicatated under 1 world government run by the banks.
In order to achieve that all sovereign countries will be attacked and destroyed and put under dictatorship of UN and IMF.
In other words WW3 is ongoing ad it does involve dozens of countrys and millions of deaths already mostly by starvation and civil unrest as a result of destroying the infrastructure see afghanistan,iraq,Libya and Serbia, in order to install the New World Order.

Actually thanks DVT, you just triggered a thought in my mind.........Thatcher broke the ice with Gorby and Dave Cameron liberated Libya, John Major helped kick Saddam out of Kuwait. Labour Tony Blair/Gordon Brown/Ed Milliband was responsible for the disasters of Iraq and Afghanistan, Labour also screwed the economy. A totally British political post.
