Some parents simply do not want ex-porn stars reading stories to their 7 to 9 year old children. I'm sure that they werent told by school district officials that anything like that would be going on in school. So now some third grader had a story read to them by Sasha Grey, kid says who is Sasha Grey so the kid types it into google. See the problem? If you dont see the problem, you've obviously never been a parent.

the main issue i'd say with this isn't that sasha grey is reading to kids. is the reason why she is reading to kids. she is only an "actress" due to her fame from porn. she never would of been in the gf experience or entourage if not for her porn roles. so basically someone said, lets get this girl who is famous for fucking and sucking to read to the kids. if the idea is to inspire kids to read because of who is reading to them, that is kinda fucked up.

The problem that I see regarding her reading to the children is that she continues to go by the name "Sasha Grey" and you are correct - a curious child could type her name into a search engine after meeting her and come across some pornographic material. I wasn't thinking much about that so you pointed out a valid issue that could be a concern to many parents. I was focusing on the fact that she is a former porn actress and could not determine the connection between working in porn and reading books to children...and I see no problem with that in itself.

But yeah, using the same name that she used in her former porn career, I can see why it was a problem with some people. And I am sure that we can all agree that it is a good idea for any computer being used by children to have the parental filter working correctly but I understand where you are coming from.

Traci Lords has gone on to a successful acting career using her porn alias. And worse that Sasha fucking and sucking on camera, Tracie faked IDs and did it when she was underage. So kids didn't see her on Gilmore Girls, Nash Bridges, Hercules, Melrose Place, Roseanne, etc. and decide to google her name?

I have no problem with any of that and I agree with you. I never said that someone could not have a successful career in the mainstream field and continue to use their porn name. But to the best of my knowledge, Traci Lords has never spent the day at an elementary school reading to the children. If that had been the case, we would still be in the exact same situation. I also agree with you on the parental filtering.

At the end of the day, I guess the bottom line is that the school should have chosen someone else for the reading. I am still not sure why they decided to choose her in the first place when there are so many other people that could have been chosen...but whatever.

I was trying to search to see if Traci Lords has done any volunteer or charity work, but apparantly nobody gives a shit about her anymore, so I couldn't find squat.

Edit: I did find that she works with an organization called "Children of the Night," which helps young girls escape prostitution. But I imagine the criteria for that is a little different than reading to school kids. That being said, if she's involved with that organization, I find it hard to believe she doesn't do other things, Classmom for her kids, PTO? I just can't find any documentation on it.

what is the point of the program? to inspire kids to read by bringing in famous people? if so they brought someone in who was famous for getting fucked on film. she did not get famous for her small acting roles.
