Most people selling merchant accounts are "aquirers", basically resellers for the few gateways and banks that actually do the processing. First Data and Authorizenet actually process most of the transactions. You may want to contact one of the big names directly. This link mentions many of the big names and explains the process:

"Acquirer" = registered card association (Visa/MasterCard) entity accepting the transaction on behalf of their Merchant (i.e. bank). What you meant to say, I think, was most people selling merchant accounts are agents of acquiring entities re-selling processing services. True.

First Data, through it's merchant services solutions, does not currently acquirer for 5967 (Adult Membership). As the back-bone processing platform, 5967 transactions do hit their platform for banks who do acquire adult.

Most "A" level banks (i.e. Wells Fargo, Citi, HSBC, B of A) do not accept 5967. If you're interested in a direct merchant account for this business vertical, you have to look elsewhere.

You can go aggragate (i.e. CCBill, Zombaio, et al) or you can get your own direct Merchant Account.

I'm more than happy to discuss with you!

Cheers
