What is the conservative equivalent of daily show/colbert?

I enjoy these shows so much I feel guilty . So what can I watch from the other end to balance it out? Who smacks around the democrats the way these dudes do the repubs?

Coup 11-10-2011 09:23 PM

Since fox news cancelled glenn beck i'm not sure there is one.

Slutboat 11-10-2011 09:30 PM

dude huh? It's common knowledge that Republicunts are colossally un-funny

also Liberals have the sophistication to make fun of themselves, unlike conservascum

we tear our OWN people new assholes when they deserve it, Repugs only circle the waggons no matter how fucked up someone is...

baddog 11-10-2011 09:38 PM

I don't feel guilty. Stewart and Colbert are more than willing to point out the Democrat idiocy as well as the Republican. I get the feeling Stewart is really disappointed in Obama and the lack of backbone displayed by the Dems lately.

The conservative equivalent of Colbert and the Daily Show, eh? Any math book. Anything on the History channel. Your favorite economics tutorial. Conservatives by their nature like to deal with experience, facts, and logic, not sophmoric attempts to make fun of people. The purely emotional, including purely emotional attacks with no basis in reason, is pretty much the domain of the liberal, I'm afraid. That makes them much better songwriters and poets. Conservative songs and jokes would have numbers in them.

All kidding aside, Rush Limbaugh is the closest that comes to my mind, but it's a dry humor, so you have to keep in mind he is an entertainer and not take him too seriously. Colbert is more slapstick whereas Rush plays the straight man, not playing up his job as an ENTERTAINER as much.

they do try but as you know it's obviously slanted to the left. i mean, all they really do is make fun of the absurdities and inconsistencies. i'm SURE that maxine waters alone could fill up a segment on a right slanted show

After writing that I realized that it's literally true. One of my favorite jokes is:

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Not just numbers in my joke, binary numbers.
Wow, Slutboat is right, we ARE humor impaired, but they are logic impaired, so it all balances out.

Checkmate.

That Limbaugh is so funny. Grew up having to listen to him and his hateful ways and bitterness were so darn funny.

I think my grandfather thought he was funny, too. Oh wait, he always fell asleep and took his afternoon nap while listening to Rush.

Derpy 11-10-2011 10:49 PM

I've noticed this as well. Perhaps it's because clowning is seen as pointless while you still feel you have an important point to make. Maybe it's because the right has a siege mentality. But probably the main factor is that the religious have aligned themselves firmly with the right and thus the right puts out much more bait. Before the left shunned religion they put out some really crazy shit, too. Remember Jim Jones and his socialist multiracial paradise?

Gouge 11-10-2011 11:02 PM

Am i the only one here who has never watched The Daily Show or Colbert Report?

Shotsie 11-10-2011 11:04 PM

The rights attempt at humor is that show Red Eye that comes on Fox at 3 in the morning. About the most awkward, unfunny shit you'll ever watch. You actually feel kind of embarrassed for them, that's how bad it is.

What kills me is that Anthony Cumia from the Opie & Anthony show goes on there as a guest and pretends to be amused by their jokes, so fucking phony. That's the same type of show that they would play clips of and tear to pieces on O&A. Anthony is a republican ball-washer.

Here's Louis CK on the O&A show asking Donald Rumsfeld if he's a lizard. He tears him up pretty good.

mynameisjim 11-10-2011 11:04 PM

Fox news launched a "comedy" show a while back to try to compete with The Daily Show. It was terrible, unfunny, and quickly canceled. You can probably find clips of it somewhere.

mynameisjim 11-10-2011 11:12 PM

Republican or Democrat, this Colbert bit about yachts was very funny.
