I make these from scratch. I harvest pesticide free eggplants from my wife's family's farm and roast them over a wood fire. Toast sesame seeds and puree them for the tahini sauce. I add some CALAMANSI (they are more common here than lemons), a dash of salt. Splash some olive oil up top. BAM! Lunch is served!

I thought I liked it but I just had some as a side instead of an appetizer in an authentic middle-eastern restaurant. It was loaded with chili powder (I think) and some spice that tasted like dirt. It was almost too hot to eat.
