Charge backs are like getting hit in the nuts
Whats the deal with charge backs in Adult?
I am not sure if I understand why chargebacks/refunds are giving so quick in Adult. If someone purchases $200 worth of goods online from Amazon and they try and get their money back they need to return the goods. How come in other industries people would be put in jail for this type of credit card fraud. One of the most discouraging things is when you check your stats and your like cool a new sign up, then they follow up with another purchase. Then a couple days later it gets refunded back and your like wtf. It kind of kills your drive when this happens... |
Tell me about it. In the last 2 days I've had $300 in chargebacks to my white label cam site.

And billing would rather give it back peacefully than have a REAL chargeback, so many of the chargebacks given to affiliates are really just refunds. Oh well, if the sponsor didn't make anything or lost money then I don't see why I should profit any. But they should at least make it harder to chargeback. |
nabbed 4 refunds/chargebacks today on pps program :(
|
This is why they call these types of transactions "High Risk". Intangible, and no proof of delivery.

I have mostly search engine traffic, which can be good and bad... |
Will you name the cam sponsor you stopped using because of chargebacks?

This will make you feel better...
Try spending $170 on a 260 dvd order...The people chargeback the bank does it immediately then they take the money from your biz account and do not notify you about it... You balk and they ask if you have a signed receipt from the receiver, emails confirming the order and a copy of their first born's dna... Doing this for each and every order would be cost prohibitive and is still no guarantee of anything. You got burned by promotion...we got burned twice this year and actually paid out goods...more than 500$ - Gateway processor does nothing and the bank only gives you grief...dickheads. So I am going to a collection agency and put the crooks through hell...wont get much if anything back but... Banks and Visa are pretty much the new Nazi regime... Lets put it this way if I saw a bank on fire i would go buy some gas to put it out. |

Then they send me something in the mail telling me to contact the company that frauded me to ask for a credit, meanwhile the bank already credit my account. Makes zero sense, the bank should be calling them or contacting the authorities to find out why they took money from my account. So they just right off millions of dollars...and most scammers just keep doing it. |
Out of nowhere today I got 8 chargebacks and 1 credit from the same sponsor. Is this suss or are things like this done in batches by a sponsor? All the join details are from different days but they all came in a big heap today.

decade plus ago started doing ads for porn sites. we used every method we could get them to click and ultimately sign up... whatever it took.
Now, im doing ads for chargeback related companies and services lol times change, chargebacks are now a business in and of themselves it seems. |
I sold an item on ebay recently, a piece of almost brand new baby furniture. It was a gift, barely used and sat untouched for months. It looked new.
The person who bought it got buyers remorse (they could have spent like $25 more and got same item new)... not my fault they got stupid in a bidding war. So when they received it, they lied it was missing parts and damaged. Ebay now just pays the return shipping once they open a claim, and I had zero opportunity to defend myself while jumping through their forms and hoops. They required zero proof from the person, and this person left me negative feedback totally ruining a 10+ year old ebay account with dozens of positive feedbacks. They took the money from my paypal account, fucked that up, and ruined my selling abilities on ebay. you think adult is bad? fuck ebay, this was baby furniture and the customer was a total asshole liar. I was given no rights or opportunity to say anything and they will not remove the feedback. I will never use ebay again. And in like 15 years of doing biz on them they fucking ruined it for me and pissed me off costing me time and money! where's my chargeback? :1orglaugh |

It's not just adult, and it's just a cost of doing business. I dealt with the same chargeback percentages as a call center business analyst, and bounced checks as a caterer. Why does it happen? Because there's always one more asshole than you counted on. Perservere and you'll find a plan to limit your lost revenue, then someone else will figure out how to circumvent that plan. It just happens.

There was once a time when the bank would issue a retrieval request to merchants in adult, back in 1999-2000, and give those merchants a chance to dispute the chargeback. At that time however there were some very large operators, in both Australia and the US, that were basically collecting customers CC info, and then "banging" the credit card databases for millions of dollars per month. V/MC were just figuring out how to run credit card systems online at that time, and the fact that the adult industry took total advantage of their ineptitude led to issuing banks simply hitting the chargeback button as soon as they saw the adult merchant category code, no questions asked. Even with the subsequent increase in anti-fraud controls and the tightening of card-not -present procedures, this reaction continues to this day.

With all the shady cross sales and one click upgrades how can you expect Visa to investigate each claim.
Chargebacks do suck but if you have a quality product you should have no issue keeping your ration under 1% regardless of volume. |
must be the time of the month....i got hit bigtime over the last few days
might be time to switch up sponsors...fuckers |
It's because adult is high risk and no one gives a shit. Take ccBill for example, if someone does a charge back - ccbill takes the money from your account no questions asked. In mainstream if a customer files for a charge back - the merchant gets a re-presentment (they get to send information to the bank trying to prove their side of the story). Every merchant does this by the way, it's how the system works. However in adult - they don't care - every merchant just takes your money and gives it back to the card holder. My friends who work in the credit processing industry say they actually love "adult" charge backs, because they're soooooo easy to deal with. They get the charge back from the card holder - tell the merchant - and the merchant replies instantly by giving the money back no questions asked.
(by the way, I'm not calling out ccbill - just using them as my example - as all the other processors do the same and it's not just a ccbill issue) |
when i make my first sale i will respond
|
What burns me most is when the same scammer re-joins through your links multiple times with different names, and also purchases additional sales. Then it all get charges back.
I am wondering why sponsors don't ban their IP address from accessing their website once they charge back. Is this technology available or used? |

have you ever tried to charge anything back before? other than american express. it's a real pain in the ass! i bought some on-line software that didn't work and asked for my money back after the programmer couldn't get it to work but didn't want to refund. it was a goat fuck to chargeback and i wasn't interested in dealing with the hassle so i let it go. it was only $40 and not worth the effort.
i offered a $3.95 full-access trial once and got a few chargebacks! i was blown away by this. along with a few other issues, i realized that trials attract super cheap people and i never offered it again. |
For sure unwanted, happened to me too.

I'm sorry that this happened to you. |
The problem here is the credit card system. Credit cards weren't made for the internet in the first place. I'm not dealing with chargeback as much as you guys in this thread are but I agree that each chargeback is a kick in the nuts, especially if you can see in your stats that the person has downloaded a lot of your content.
In Europe they're working on a pan-European direct bank transfer system. It's like paying by credit card, but the client is directed to the site of his own bank where he has to initiate the electronic wire (transfer) and once that transfer is done, it can't be stopped, cancelled or charged back. I want to take usage of this asap. We're also creating gold sections (with full HD, newer movies, live cam etc) of our member sections for which we will accept payment by bank wire and cash by mail only. Only members of our normal sections can apply for this, by then they know what quality to expect from us, if they don't want to pay by bank wire or cash by mail, they can take their plastic credit card money elsewhere. |

On the other side, I must admit, I bought a plane ticket for an US model once, the cunt changed her mind on the flight and decided not to work with us but have a holiday in Paris instead, so I had the payment for the flight charged back, simply claiming that I didn't do the purchase and that someone else used my credit card. This was about $800. I was so hoping that the airline would go after this cunt and demand payment from her for the two flights she took :1orglaugh |

Once upon a time Visa and Mastercard visited their buddies in congress looking for bankruptcy relief. Congress really wanted to curtail the internet porn world but they had this pesky little problem known as the constitution. A deal was made and the ridiculous chargeback thresholds were born. It was very soon after that it was discovered that it could be very profitable to Visa and Mastercard to collect $100 per chargeback if merchants were over the allowable threshold. This was the birth of the zero liability for unauthorized charges, a buch of commercials were run on all media outlets that said; 'Go ahead, buy all the porn you want. Just call us up and tell us you didn't do it, it was elves." you won't have to pay, and we will make more money.
I hope this helps you understand it a little better. |
