F!!! Need New Laptop Bag ASAP!

The strap on my laptop bag was on its way out, but just busted off when I went to move it. Got stuck on the edge of my desk and *POW* its done.

Im pissed, this bag was pretty pricey, a $300+ Kenneth Cole bag that I bought about 3 years ago. I called them and they said "time to give us more of your money."

I liked this bag because it had a LOT of room in it and could carry a ton of shit. Wasnt just a laptop and cord, but had room for a ton of stuff. In between buying a new one or just trying to repair this. Problem is Im leaving Friday and need the bag.

Here is the busted strap:

Ideally, I'd like a bag that does THIS:

but this fucker is almost $700 from Tumi!

Any suggestions? Must have few pockets, shoulder strap and go on a suitcase like that.

thanks :thumbsup

Have any shoe or leather shops in your area? they may be able to just slap on a new strap for ya.

You're an idiot for spending $300 on a laptop bag. :2 cents:

i called a few places and its a bit steep, plus they said it will take a week at least to do. I'm thinking about this one: http://www.amazon.com/McKleinUSA-839...784217&sr=1-30

Targus makes some great laptop backpacks

goodgirl and I both have had them for at least 3 years and no sign of wear on either of them, and we use our a lot.

Fits well on top of a suitcase as you desire

Get off the internet and take it to a shoe repair place right now and tell them you need it immediately. If you act fast it wont be a problem.

I called the 3 places around my house, only 1 said they can fix it and it will be around $50+ and take a week because they have to order something or other. I might just get a new one and sell this.

I don't wear it as a backpack, I only got that style due to the extreme amount of room inside combined with the fact that it easily fits under the seat in front of me when flying. I only carry it on top of my suitcase.

I am able to carry 2 cameras, a video camera, three lenses, cables, laptop, external drives, etc, etc

I saw some that are cheaper but this one has a good amount of room and carries a shit load of stuff. I found the original receipt, I paid $275 in Santa Monica in late 2007, so its almost 4 years old

Why pay out the ass

Sorry couldn't remember how to post a picture

http://www.yecker.com/

My GF got this leather portfolio at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. Looks great, holds 2 pens, business cards, 2 checkbooks, my Verizon hotspot WIFI and my Mac Air. I always get compliments on it.
Why drag around a ton of crap? It's like you see a person with tons of paper on his desk. You know he's a wage slave. The CEO always has a super clean desk. Usually just a pen set. Which image do you want to present?

Don't know where you're at, but I have a downtown store here that would have fixed that bag for under $50 about 1-2 days turnaround.

It's not really garage sale season, but GF finds the most amazing bargains at garage sales and we go to an auction house occasionally, they sell stuff from storage units. Bought a bunch of clothes, she got a new wardrobe. Many still had the tags on them and included a full length mink. We always see luggage at garage sales & auctions. Best advice, go to the most expensive housing districts. that where the good stuff is. Checkout Craig's list. Why pay $300 for luggage when you can probably pick it up for $25. Little more work, but we have fun going to sales to see the best bargain we can find. $1000+ curio cabinet for $100, Hell yes.

At the auction, got her all kinds of things Coca-Cola, for her collection. Including a chrome dinette set for $35. Unfortunately, a cat had clawed the chairs. Month later she found table & perfect chairs for $150. They don't make that set anymore, but a similar new set sells for $750-1200.

I have the same Targus backpack that Baddog has, it has lasted me for almost 4 years and the only wear that is showing is being a little faded from being on my back for thousands of miles while riding motorcycles.

Targus makes a great bag, I've owned those before.

Currently I have an STM bag and it's fantastic. 4+ years old and looks brand new. Great quality.
