PSW back up YET?

You heard me! Are they back up with VISA yet? sales with CCBILL are a joke, well too many declines.

rowan 02-03-2003 11:01 AM

Nup. They said Tuesday, "probably Sunday" ... I guess Sunday is over in the USA by now. :)

XSV 02-03-2003 11:11 AM

No Visa on the form I just checked.

the indigo 02-03-2003 12:09 PM

They said Tuesday, "probably Sunday"... but might be in April.

Wow in contrast to some posters in the last thread, you guys actually appear to have accurate info! :) And while we can?t always be on the boards, we checked it today and figured why not give you guys some love too.

oasisfan: You heard me!
We?re feeling supersonic. Give us gin and tonic. We hear you, yo. But our European bank contact is sleeping away the Eastern Standard afternoon (as it?s the wee hours of the morning on the other side of the world). 2am to 5am is prime time for our programming staff.. heavily caffeinated at a 24-hour coffee shop .. on laptops with wireless internet (and we?re only half joking, we have a wireless hub aimed down the block at the coffee house). :)

rowan: I guess Sunday is over in the USA by now.
Not according to our 2002 calendar.. er? oh damn it. Actually, we had hoped the bank would have the paperwork finished before integration was done (so we could just flip the switch). But our last conversation with them seemed to indicate that they'd "get to it Tuesday or Wednesday". It?s funny how we can all be about signups, because that?s what we handle.. yet the bank can take or leave money.

XSV: No Visa on the form I just checked
A newsletter will go out when Visa is reactivated (and not 6 hours later this time, we promise). But feel free to try the form every now and then as it will be turned back on immediately before the notice... use the force.. or your spidey sense.. or something! :thumbsup

the indigo: ?probably Sunday? ? might be in April
"Counting on Sunday" :) Too bad our staff can?t count. We're still in the 5 to 7 business day "gap" window. Interesting how business days can string things out (we didn't plan to need them all): A notice on Friday after business hours.. count starts on Monday. Five days to Friday, today is six, tomorrow seven... and don?t forget the Chinese new year. Though we don?t think we could stretch it through April. ;)

For further updates, disregard third-party rumor posts, watch for newsletters and get new info from client services. We?ll be working hard to get Visa Intl processing back up at full steam.

And please enjoy NoCarrier's take on everything (such as the post below), as his kind words successfully confuse even us! He's a heartbreaker, that one. :thumbsup

NoCarrier 02-03-2003 02:51 PM

I heard rumors they were dropping VISA Intl for good.

Just want to clarify this, your original notice was sent out on Friday 17 Jan 2003 stating (correctly) that the visa outage was to start Monday 20 Jan 2003. Today is Tuesday 4 Feb 2003 (in the USA) or 5 Feb in Aussie which is where lots of webmasters have been affected.

Total # business days = 16 or 17 (sat&sun are big business days for us)

Alternatively, total # banking days = 12 or 13

I am missing my PSW visa and carefully counting the days....

Cheers,

Luke

I am sorry to say that, despite putting lots of faith in the PSW guys and keeping them up as my processor, VISA still is not being processed.

The the time of writing this it's still Tuesday in the USA (I have no idea where PSW is time zone wise) so perhaps we might see VISA today as promised.

If we don't I think I'm going to have to swap processors (again). PSW has all the ingrediants to make them a really good processor (heck apart from the VISA thing they seem to be a good processor) however if you can't transact with VISA card holders then it's rather pointless using them.

:thumbsup Much appreciate the attempt to keep everyone informed. It's a pain in the ass dealing with ANY financial institituion. Their "business days" aren't the same as the rest of the world's "business days", are they?

The original notice was incorrect, the outage didn't happen until the next weekend. The outage started on 24th Jan (USA time).

I don't see anything in the email about a 5-7 day gap, in fact it says "We expect to have suitable banking relationships within
the next few days."

In contrast to "a few days" I count about 11 days so far. That's more than 7 working days.

I've signed up with verotel now but somehow I think I've just taken a step backwards... I'm looking forward to the mass of VISA rebills when PSW get their act together. This outage has really hit me bad, as I have a big tax payment due at the end of this month. Guess when the pissy little cheques for the last 11 days worth of sales arrive? :(

HunkyLuke 02-05-2003 12:12 AM

Actually, the outage for international Visa officially started on the 20th, but PSW put in place that workaround & used the SCZ(?) USA Visa account until the 24th when visa told them it was not kosher.

So officially today (wednesday) is 17 days or 13 banking days without international visa.

But, really, all that matters is that it is still not available right now.

PornoBug 02-05-2003 12:17 AM

PSW:

You havent made your self imposed Tuesday deadline to have VISA back up for your international clients. Can we please have an update ? This is starting to look a bit "IBill-ish".

jact 02-05-2003 04:22 AM

I'd just like to know why there's still no mention of any of this on their website in the news section. Wouldn't one think this is important enough to keep clients updated about?

I look forward to Visa coming back online and I'm still seeking a replacement in the meantime unfortunately.

PornoBug 02-05-2003 06:25 AM

PSW ? Are you out there ?

It's GFY here, not the PSW message board, call them instead.

Petr 02-05-2003 07:52 AM

I have receive email from Eileen basically saying that she doesn't know the current status of this VISA situation and that she will know when their development team arrives. That today is the last day of their announced VISA gap and that we are supposed to cross our fingers. Also, I quote "The biggest problem has been that our development team is on a different time schedule then the technical staff at the bank that we have to
integrate our system with. We are hoping for later today!" The end of quote.

So obviously Eileen is at the office if you want to call her for more info.

Petr 02-06-2003 12:34 AM

*bump*

Another day without VISA. Good job, PSW!
