This shit needs to stop.

It's not that difficult really. Off the top of my head....

1) Stop giving money to other countries. Period. We've spent billions, and it's gotten us no where in the long term.
2) Bring our troops home. I'm not talking about Iraq or Afghanistan. Why have we been maintaining such a huge presence in Korea? Fuck that already. Shut it down and stop spending money there. If currently have bases in like 160 countries. We surely don't need a base in Cuba or Spain or Italy. One base for each region and that's that.
3) Stop welfare. Unemployment stops after a certain period. So should welfare. If you've been on welfare for more than a few years, something's wrong. Give people welfare for six months. If that fails, they should be given minimum wage jobs picking up garbage or grafiti or something. We need to rebuild our infrastructure - have them dig ditches for power lines and gas lines. (I have a friend who does that really.)

This is just off the top of my head. I'm sure I can think of more.

We could also stop letting the financial industry rape the system.

We are the same over here.

Britain seems to take pride in giving out endless amounts of money to countries in Aid, yet we can't pay our own shit here.

We actually give more aid to Africa than the USA...

LOL. That too.

The US is a democracy. If you fail, you fail. Government shouldn't bail you out.

J. Falcon 10-31-2011 01:39 PM

Why do you think the US and Britain give out money and have military bases all over the world? Out of charity or because there is someone getting something in return. You reap what you sow. Every action has a consequence, and both the US and Britain have in fact given 2 shits about the planet, and are more about conquest (military, economical, cultural) than providing "aid".... I mean just look at the history, it speaks for itself. But now the shit is hitting the fan and it looks bad for everyone, not only the brits and americans. Have fun!

giving?

I simply can't believe that you really think that US is giving something? there is no giving in capitalism, it is just step to take more money (or goods) out of those countries indirectly. (or it is future investment)

Some people really think their countries are doing more good than harm.

There are more "welfare" programs for rich people than their are for poor people. Farm subsidies are just one. All in all, we spent $1.2 Trillion annually on corporate subsidies. Welfare programs for the poor don't even account for half of that.

Damn right, until we had a new government last year some people in the UK earning £50,000 aka $80,000 could also get "tax credits" aka benefits. They paid the highest rate tax 40% yet STILL got a subsidy !!!!!!!

tony286 10-31-2011 07:58 PM

Isnt japans debt like 200% of gdp and they havent fallen off a cliff.

I know. There was a story in Rolling Stone about two wives of these big bank execs that like one million in "unsecured loans" to buy out school loans and they never had to repay any of the money back.

We need to stop all of this shit.

Both the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, get $193,400. The former Speaker of the House, Nancy Palosi, gets $223,500 and a jet airplane. President Obama makes $400,000 per year plus expenses.

After 5 years in office all get some form of retirement for life. Many will retire with their full salary for life and a few at 80% for life.

In 1989, Congress passed an amendment allowing for automatic raises, unless lawmakers specifically voted to reject it. Which Congress did until 2000 when Republicans were in charge. It's the liberal politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, who have almost ruined this country.

Today there are 413 retired members of congress that will make as much as $1.74 million in the next 10 years.

The average retiree on social security who paid in for life will get $1,200 and month after they turn 65. I can see one way to cut some cost. It's not much but given that they have not been doing their jobs, do we really have to keep this going and giving them raises? (even though we don't give them raises, they do and then they just tax us more to pay for their salary...what a fucking scam!)

And, they want to cut Social Security without even mentioning cutting their own retirement scam?

biskoppen 11-01-2011 04:14 PM

WW3 is coming.. which is not a biggie, we're way too many people raping this world anyways

End the US Federal Reserve Bank, refuse to pay any debt to the Fed as they conjured the money up out of thin air and get banks to invest in American business as opposed to gambling on the stock exchange.

Then watch whatever President puts this plan into effect get assasinated.

The really scary thing is that let's roughly doubled in just the past two years.
$22,000 in new debt each just since Obama took over.
Six more years of that, doubling three more times, will be nezrly $200,000 we're each on the hook for.

The UK has socialism stripped from it years ago. The lower debt countries on that list still have socialism.
