Guys, which software besides Frontpage (for newbies) are available ?
I got this hot chicks which is a good designer but novice at html web stuff. Besides FP (which you probably can't get anymore) would do the job ? By the way, i tried to install and ol FP 97 and the 2000 update of mine on her brand new Windows7 laptop and you can't (even if you try in other Windows modes Vista/XP/2000 etc..) Oh yeah free :1orglaugh Or dirt cheap :winkwink: Thanks :thumbsup |
Wordpress.
Idiot-proof, and she can stick any theme she fancies on it for the appearance. |

Amaya - free
|
kompozer is not bad and it's free too.
|
Get the 30 Day Trial for Dreamweaver from Adobe. If she figures it out, spring for the real deal.
You can get them cheaper if you know someone who's a student. |
Muse - http://muse.adobe.com/
Create websites as easily as you create layouts for print. You can design and publish original HTML pages to the latest web standards without writing code. Now in beta, Muse makes it a snap to produce unique, professional websites. |
if you know what you're doing -> Notepad++
if you don't know what are you doing -> DW, FrontPage id you don't know how to do it -> WordPress |
Video on Muse:
And it's free. |
Thanks guys. Keep it coming :thumbsup

Damn i don't have this one:warning |
I think you should change your nickname. It makes you look like a poser. just my opinion.
|
dream weaver ;)
|
Scratch the Muse recommendation.
It uses Business Catalyst. You can create a free trial site, but you then have to upgrade to a hosting package. The lowest pricing is $19 per month. There are ways to get around their "trials", but that is not good (or honest) business. |
You do not have to use Business Catalyst to use Muse.
|
Notepad still the good stand bye but Amaya looks interesting :thumbsup
|
Oh no, old thread bumping!
Here's my list: VirtualBox Ubuntu 10.04 Geany (editor) And yes, this is my actual setup. |

i wouldn't touch frontpage with a 10-foot pole... I've looked at the html-code it produces, it looks really messy to me. I love dreamweaver if i need to make a more complex design, or notepad2 if i need to code something really quick...
If you don't want to spend $$$, and you really need a wysiwyg editor (which rules out notepad++, notepad2,...) i would defenately go for compozer, i used it way back when it was still more or less tied to firefox, and even back then it was pretty good (but not as good as dreamweaver imo) |
