Playing the Colts was like playing a pewee football team.

This makes no sense, if they do get him, I would imagine they would keep him under manning for a few years, learn how to play in the pros, manning wont be around for much longer, if he is around at all next year. Have him under mannings wing for a few years, like Rogers was with Favre. You can really see the advantages of him learning compared to the Rookies they just throw out there.

and what does that say for-
Steelers 23 - Colts 20
Bucs 24 - Colts 17
Chiefs 28 -Colts 24

all three close games against the colts, the only other blow out they had was the first game against the texans.

on the other end of the spectrum the saints-colts game was boring, even for me and i'm a saints fan.

Manning would be worth to many draft choices to a team that has a playoff shot but no veteran quarterback. Watching Manning take snaps in practice all week won't make Luck that much better at quarterback.

trade a quarterback who has at least 4 or 5 more competitive even elite years left, maybe more, for a chance at an unproven rookie who, even if a star, will take at least 3 years to make any significant impact?

No.... That's just bad math.

You have to remember this isn't 1985, the longevity on quarterbacks are much higher as long as they keep up with their training, and last i checked manning was a work horse... You also have to take in account that it only takes about a year or two to rebuild teams now with the way free agency is set up these days so complete makeovers aren't even necessary with good teams.

i believe this is a tie for the biggest- i read on nfl.com that since the afc and nfc were formed in 1970 only one other team scored 62 points in a game.

before that i believe the bears scored 70 plus points in a 1940's game.
