How long does it take you to launch a new site?
What's the longest amount of time it's taken you to launch a site?
I've been actively working on my new project for about 2mons now. Created the psd design, did the css/xhtml coding, and now working on the php coding. Its a full member site with profiles, vid/pic, event, search etc sections... I'm pretty much doing all the work myself, with the help of stackoverflow.com. Which is not a bad thing, considering I've changed/removed/added a lot of features along the way. Its hard finding a programmer that will stick around let alone change features along the way. I have a Nov 1st launch date set which is looking pretty good. |
my longest one so fare has taken me over 2 years

It depends on if you mean from the start of producing the content to the paysite having a decent traffic flow & self sufficient or if you mean design & going live.
You need enough content for your members to feel happy to stay & enough new regular content for updates, but then the design could only take a week or so... The billing company only takes a few days maximum but the traffic can take a few months. Once you have a program & several sites, the billing companies are fast & the traffic & affiliates are already there, so it can just be down to content & design. |

longest, somewhere between two and 3 years....
I think if I had to start from scratch shooting content and everything, I could now do a nice site in 4 to 6 months. but man.... that would be working nonstop! |
