the next apple big thing
I suspect the next thing they bring out will be a games cosole.
its the one market they do not seem yet to have hit, yet would be logical. what do you think? |
I think you would have so little knowledge on the subject that any sort of a reply other than 'fuck off idiot' would be a waste of time.

I think they will bring TVs. Design, quality, technology, all integrated with your computer. (similar to apple tv but the entire thing). |
Tough market to insert themselves into. I see PC gaming making a big return, once people start writing games that can harness these 6-8 core CPUs with mega-GPUs consoles are going to die out.
|
Whatever they bring out, the Apple sheep will buy it...
|
I don't really care...

pc's are less popular and such as tablets are replacing them. while a games console would i suspect inc appekl tv, conection to your ipad/ipod. after this then i suspect a full tv with it all intergrated. plus games would ge apps and sold cheap on download. |
Pre-chewed fruit.

Serious gamers are going to dump their consoles that use a P4, Radeon 1900series with DX8, (xbox360) for these new games that can only be played on powerful PCs. On-top of that, 3D displays without the need for glasses are right around the corner. 3D gaming at ultra high resolutions on multiple displays is something that will become more mainstream. That's just my speculation though. :thumbsup I could see Apple designing something to compete with something like Wii, but I think gaming in general is going to get a lot more sophisticated in the next 4-5 years and these little consoles with sub par hardware won't be able to keep up with the advancements in PC hardware. This is an older demonstration harnessing DX10 / DX11, keep in mind this is ACTUAL game play. Now imagine it in 3D on 3 1600p, (2500X1600) monitors. It's all matter of gamer developers making the leap. |

It's about sitting back on the couch with a wireless controller, with some beer and chips and your favorite game. It doesn't matter that it doesn't look as good as my PC. A lot of people spend 8 hours a day looking at a computer screen at work. They don't all want to play a game at the computer also. Consoles aren't going anywhere. But Battlefield 3 will be a PC buy:) |
I don't understand the concept of a game console. I've owned dozens of them, and through out the years had to upgrade and buy into new systems. Fuck that. I have a PC, and it can play any game I want.
No more buying consoles. |

they are a full entertainment system. such as playing dvd's or blurays, serfing the web, music and so on. this is why i see it as a logical next step. if you can get in on that area, you have everything. it can also be a mac computer too. |

why would they bring a games console out when you can play games on mac/iphone/ipod/ipad

think this way, pda's were out for years, but appel got people to buy its pda the iphone by doing it backwards. it came out with its mp3 thing, added more to it, till it became a pda. if it came out with a cosole, it could in efect give you an imac without you knowing it. plus once you have it in your living room, the possibilities are endless. do not forget also they need a new product. the iphone and ipad have huge competition. with consoles your competition is soney playstation, xbox and wee. |
they won't develop a game console
they will build out the all-in-one TV's that Jobs envisioned long before he died.. its already in the works.. say goodbye to 47 button remote controls. |

Apple tried developing a console before. It was called the Pippin.
*Edit* - here you go, check out the video |

I assume it's now more about virtual work platforms. We have devices and networks ready, it's about time to figure out the use for it :)

Floppy disk drive? The first consoles with storage capabilities weren't released until almost a decade later. Wireless controllers, multiplayer capabilities online. Interestingly enough, consoles today are like computers with internet browsers. |
Apple's next big thing will be TELEVISIONS. This was announced last spring I think.
|
I can't see Apple doing tv's. I can't honestly see what value they can bring to that business.... it's now a very low margin business and TV's are selling for next to nothing...
|
Do know what what apple would dominate? Car stereo systems.
I've seen new cockpits where the center console is all glass. Imagine having a large ipad like stereo with everything built in. |
