Breaking News: Obama to announce full withdrawal from Iraq
From USA Today, 4 min ago
on CNN: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/21...end/?hpt=hp_c1 "Of the 39,000 troops in Iraq, only about 150, a negligible force, will remain to assist in arms sales." >> till the end of the year. |
They're gonna redraw the borders of Iraq so that US bases are no longer officially inside Iraq?
Oh wait, they already did something similar when they supposedly withdrew from major cities... |
"Obama to announce full withdrawal from Iraq" for direct shipment to Iran.
|
Smart move politically, they have been waiting to announce this for 6 months but had to wait until Gadhafi was either killed or captured. After all he has to do something to drum up support for his failed presidency and what better way than to take credit for killing Gadhafi one day and announcing the troop withdraw from Bushs Iraq cluster fuck the next day.
|
I was not aware Obama is part of adult industry :D
|
Let's pray that Iraq does not backslide.

people will still expect all the troops to come home, that wont happen |
Well, they should be able to stand up on their own by now ... |
I wonder what's the motive of this move. I smell something fishy again!

I just wanna be green :( :(

this means that the bombing of Iran is a near certainty
|
Perhaps he set up an "Iraq withdrawal Trigger", like a stop-loss sell order. When his popularity got down to a certain level, then it triggers, and he pop this out!
Either way, I hope it's true. . |

Yawn.
1) They are going to need troops in Iran soon. 2) Everyone fails to mention the insane amount of private military contractors (mercenaries) working in Iraq, and as troops pull out, they bring in more mercenaries. 3) He's going to pull out every stop he can while trying to get reelected. |
FYI - Here's a good book written by an Iraq vet friend of mine.

hmmm...i dont think it will happen
it has already been said that doing so is sort of like declaring war on the world. you go in and mess stuff up...you are stuck there for the long haul |
So they're completely withdrawing all regular military and moving to a fully privatized blackwater style mercenary army? Or did I misread that?
|
I wonder if they will just increase the number of privateers.

Wasn't that always the plan Bush had?
|
We have to stay behind and do arm sales so they are a threat again in 10 years after another dictator takes over.

He was pretty strong headed on making sure we stay the course, even after the election. However he did, more than once, pull troops from Iraq, some home and others to Afghan. But after Obama was elected, Iraq started to demand a time-line to get U.S. forces out... because Bush didn't create one. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...110601189.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/0..._n_164801.html |
Iran invades Iraq, spreading the Iranian forces thin.
Iraq neighbors help out minimally, spreading the Iranian forces thinner. American forces attack Iran from the East in Afghanistan, we have had 10 years of mountain training! Naval forces attack from the South as Iran's Navy is on Iraq's border. American forces head to Iraq from the West and South (Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia) to beat down wounded Iranian army. At Iran's bidding, Syria tries to play cute and unleashes Hezbollah and Hamas. Turkey becomes concerned while Israel has a field day. Meanwhile, CIA equips Syrians to take on their government. Sounds like fun! |
Iran nukes Israel.
Everybody wins. |
who cares.

He previously announced July 2009 and then in April of 2010 he said we'd be out by August. Should we take him seriously the third or fourth time he announces a different date?

It's going to be Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome up in that bitch.
Actually, it already is. |

The democrats wanted out of Iraq because they know we should of never been there in the first place. Democrats wanted to focus on Afghan and win Afghan because that were the root of the terrorism issue was at that time. Republicans wanted to make a show of Afghan but Bush & co really wanted to invade Iraq. We got trumped up BS from them as a reason to invade and then it was mission accomplished as nearly 10 years later as it's pretty much just as fucked as when we started. Bush & co may have wanted to win Iraq, but they didn't do it. Instead they got us into a fucked position and also allowed the war in Afghan to go to shit allowing the tangos to spread their network around the world with greater support. Yey go Republicans they are awesome with wars and getting our troops killed while having little to no plan on what they are doing or how to accomplish it. Simple fact is Republicans are big on talking and little on action or following it through. |
Definitely looks like it's time for Iran, but first there must be a nasty event to blame on them, more nasty than an alledged assassination plot, they have to make sure we look like the good guys going in to save the day. I wonder what's planned

When your approval ratings are at the lowest of the low... time to start making some popular announcements.

Now if he would only announce the government's full withdrawal from the country's economic anal tract.
