Australian police attack protesters

What I find interesting about this and what is happening in the United States is that these countries bomb and slaughter millions in other peoples countries in the name of protecting the rights of citizens in those countries to protest...but dont allow the same thing in their own countries....

Is there any country left in the world that even resembles freedom anymore? It seems not.

Very ignorant post.

The Australian protesters are simply copycats and the police probably were a little heavy handed however what would you do with hippy retards?

I'm not a supporter of police at all, however these protesters were simply idoiuts.

It does not really matter what they are protesting about, nor does it matter what their occupations are or what clothes they wear...the point im making is that the Australian Government has comdemned and even warned and supported military action against other countries that inhibit or stop peaceful protests. It is the basic right of people to engage in a peaceful protest regardless of they gender, color of their skin, education, clothes they wear or anything else. But that is not the case in Australia...it seems you are not allowed to protest in Australia or you get bashed and arrested by the Police. In all fairness to the police though, they are only following directions from the Political leaders...the same political leaders that condemn other countries that stop peaceful protests. Australia calls itself a free country...but the minute someone tries to exercise their freedom look what happens to them.

Where are you from? I am guessing a non english speaking country as your understanding of 'condemned' and 'warned' are so far up the fuck it is not funny.

Your ignorance on facts is disturbing to say the least.

Worry about your own turf, we are A OK here. So in other words STFU and put the lock back on your box.

Look at the list of demands they gave the Sydney City Council.

Quote:

give them power, Wi-Fi, toilets and parking

Occupy Sydney's list of demands to make their campout easier includes "lots of umbrellas", a council van "in which to cook" and for tents, tarps, ponchos and blankets.

The group of 50 is even asking the council for garden beds and compost bins.

Sydney City Councillor Shayne Mallard said it was laughable the protesters wanted to plant gardens while their peers were being moved on in Melbourne.

I am all for letting someone or group have their say, but fuck, do it in the right way, place, and time.

Yes there is, it's called Russia.

In Russia you can get your ass kicked by a gang of gays protesting for equal rights, get robbed by policemen, run over by some government official's car but you are much more free and you can be proud that your tax rubles are not going to buy bombs to be dropped on little children in some irrelevant small country that can't defend itself.

It is good to see that the police in Melbourne know how to deal with some worthless hippie trash...... if only the NYPD would follow their example. Keeping public order is one of the few legitimate responsibilities of government.

Disappointing.

With the post I was at least expecting a few cracked skulls not just the police dragging a load of soap dodgers away :(

I was actually going to check out the Melbourne "event" on Thursday or Friday but had to do something else. Looks like I missed out on the fun. :Oh crap

Wonder how many of the people in that camp could sum up exactly what they're protesting against?
