Anyone know of an auction site or place to sell mainstream sites>
 

I started a mainstream site recently and as it turns out I don't have the interest or time to full develop it. It could be a cool project for the right person so I just want to get rid of it.

A while back I thought I saw either an auction site or just a site that where you can list mainstream sites for sale. I'm not looking to make a lot of money off of it, it is new and doesn't have much in the way of traffic or revenue, but it has potential.

Any ideas?

Once I decide which site to go with I'll post a link. If I can get like $100-$150 out of the site I'll be happy. I think it is worth that to the right person.

flippa is as bad as ebay nowadays.....

With very few exceptions, it is full of sites that have been knocked up just to sell to newbies. :thumbsup

Flippa.com is a good place to get an idea regarding the price.

DP WF and WaFo are some good places to flip your site.

Totally, there are so many crap cookie cutter sites on there.

Biggest problem with flippa is it is expensive to sell or buy on now. Before it was great, now it is totally fucked - the dickheads who run sp should be fucked in the ass by an elephant and finished off with barbed wire cricket bat.

thanks for the info about them. Basically I am selling a cookie cutter site. It is a free WP theme but it has about 20+ handwritten posts and it does get some search engine traffic. I had plans to do big things with it, just don't have the time nor passion.

SP use to have a fantastic place to buy and sell mainstream sites, but they got greedy and created Flippa and a huge number of users just left for DP and the likes.

Flippa has a percentage fee end of listing fee and it is an absolute joke. I use to buy sites on SP - cookie cutter sites with half decent designs etc that were perfect for adsense. Now well it's fucked.

You should really look into selling on forums if you are looking to get $150 for the site, since you will be paying about half of that for flippa fees..

Forums like DP, WF and others are pretty good for selling small stuff, but you will need to write up a good sales letter.. Flippa is for getting an idea about value of your sites as it is the leading marketplace at the moment.. Good luck with your sales!
