Best Whisky ?

Makers Mark is pretty damn smooth.

Whats really good though ? I don't hit it straight. I mix it with coke.

dantheman 02-02-2003 07:34 AM

20 year old Glenlivet is supposed to be nice. I don't drink, so I don't know. There are some amazing vintage single malts available here. Even more when I was up in Scotland. Makes it kind of painful to hear people refer to a brand name and say "best whisky"...

BT 02-02-2003 07:47 AM

Jack Daniels:thumbsup

Irish Whiskey is easily the best - Jack Daniels is paintstripper in comparison...

Probono 02-02-2003 10:16 AM

Without a doubt the best with a cigarhttp://www.dalmoredistillery.co.uk/i...igar_taste.jpg

PeteTheRed 02-02-2003 10:30 AM

Knob Creek is decent. Smooth and easy to drink.

Herb Kornfield 02-02-2003 10:32 AM

Jack Daniels

XSV 02-02-2003 01:10 PM

For drinking straight: Makers Mark gold or Bookers

Mixed: Crown and Seven

If you're mxing it with coke it doesnt matter much but if you want quality i would suggest Remy XO

Interlude 02-02-2003 01:18 PM

Johnnie Walker Oldest. Available only at the distillery itself for about $800 a bottle. It's quite tasty for 100+ year old liquor :)

smproduction 02-02-2003 01:18 PM

Jack :drinkup

Rictor 02-02-2003 01:53 PM

As long as it's a grade above paint thinner, I'll drink it.

and COKE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH

nothing but filtered reverse osmosis water or distilled water should EVER touch crown royal limited...... You'd do JAIL TIME here if you tried that ...............

that includes the ice cubes as well, they MUST be from flitered reverse osmosis water or distilled water......

with regular crown royal one can legally use tap water though, assuming you have good clean tap water where you live.......

to be able to add coke you must step down to seagrams 83 or 5 star......

Fletch XXX 02-02-2003 02:03 PM

Dont mix good whiskey with soda.

crown over ice.
jim beam over ice.
dewars over ice.
johnny walker red over ice.

no carbonation or sugar.

all flavor.

SleazyDream 02-02-2003 02:04 PM

this was nice stuff

cherrylula 02-02-2003 02:06 PM

Carbonated drinks mixed with booze make your body absorb the alcohol faster, due to the bubbles. Not necessarily a bad thing hehe

I wanted to post this, but I was absolutely struck speechless by the utter..... sacrilige of it all.

Putting soda mixers in with the God-given Crown Royal (of any variety) is like..... it's like..... it's like slopping ketchup all over a choice piece of filet mignon. It's like owning a Jag and installing a cheap no-name-brand stereo in it. It's like winning a date with Jenna and taking her to Subway.

It just isn't done!

I am what everyone else wants to be.......

Baal 02-02-2003 02:16 PM

Bushmills, hands down. Smoothest whiskey I've ever tasted. Those Irish folks know how to make whiskey!

Makes Jack and Johnny seem like lighter fluid in comparison.

Nasty D 02-02-2003 03:08 PM

Crown with lots of ICE is nice:Graucho when partyin'

Bushmill is the my favorite!

chaffer 02-02-2003 03:29 PM

Beam

Maca 02-02-2003 03:58 PM

Almost any Irish whiskey (note the 'e') as they are all triple distilled for extra smoothness.

A 12 year old Jameson is one of my particular fave tipples

I'm partial to Bush Mills 18yo.. I brought a bottle of port-finished 18yo Glenfiddich (I'm pretty sure that was it) to Mexico for my girlfriend's father as a gift, and made her whole family do a straight shot with me before I left.. The look on their faces was worth the money alone. ;) I drink most hard alcohol straight, not even with ice even..

I'm a skinny little runt, but when I was 15 or so I used to kill a mickey of Jack just about every weekend straight, then wander around the streets with a half-quarter and a few friends in the dead of winter.. Now we have an office.

Socks 02-09-2003 03:14 AM

Actually this thread has inspired me, I'm gonna go buy bottle of some nice scotch today, all this beer is making me (more) chubby

Jack and lime bitters makes the BEST WHISKEY SOUR you have ever wet your whistle with !!!!!

Biker Friend of mine named "Sniff" introduced me to the pleasure ... thus why while I was bartending, I aptly named it a Sniff's Sour :Graucho

As far as mixing whiskey with coke, you should be tar and feathered !!! :eek7

Crown Limited with water or maybe 7 :thumbsup

JayJay 02-09-2003 06:33 AM
