If you just spent close to $1,300 or so with a designer and you asked him for two buttons (two diff sizes, total of 4) and it took over TWO WEEKS and you still don't have them.

Do you consider that good or bad customer service? :helpme

The two buttons were asked for after design was done. Wanted to clarify.

He couldn't believe you've paid that much for such work so he is living in denial ...

Common practice

I paid 1,300 or WHATEVER in a span of 3 weeks for several designs. After designs done and he got PAID I asked for 2 buttons. Quick and easy. Animated GIFS. Make sense?

Yes, what part of you guys don't understand. I paid around $1,300 for the work.

If there is no dispute -- in a few hours usually maybe a day if they are busy ...
Sounds to me like a personality clash ...

I guess we don't understand why you would pay in full before some sort of assurance that it would be done in a reasonable amount of time.

And let me guess, being its been 2 weeks this "person" won't answer emails or PM?

did you ask for them aside from the 1300 worth of work after the contract for the original work?
in other words were you expecting them as freebies to be thrown in or were they part of the original contract?

if it's free you can't bitch about how long it takes.

Are you being held hostage without the psd files? If you have psd files then give somebody 5 dollars to make the buttons for you.
If you have no psd files then you just got snookered. Most good designers will gladly provide you psd files because they don't want to be bothered by things like banners or buttons after the "main" job was done.

Depends on how busy the designer is. If it's freebie work then it will usually go to the end of the line.

I wouldn't really expect all that much for "free" unless I had a relationship with the designer.

It's bad. Make sure you know who you hire. A lot of fuck balls out there.. With fuck balls there is drama when it comes to web design, trust me.

did you pay for the buttons or pay for the design then demand buttons for free? you sound like a cheap bastard so i'm guessing the latter.

Feature Creep = The job is discussed, the price is set and then you want something else
added that you didn't mention before and somehow you deserve if for free.

yeah! pls define what he/they did for 1.300$. For that amount of money i would build and design the entire site with all the shit in php, ajax or even in flash! and if you insist I would even build it in Dart in 3-4 weeks and bring you a double cheeseburger!!

well, in general, I'd do that as a courtesy. However, there's always 2 sides to the story, and in my experience, many people asks for a "favor" after they asked for several free meals already, so not sure what's the deal here.

Also, seeing you seem to have a very special luck with designers maybe there's something wrong with you instead of designers. I really don't know, but the first thing that jumps to my mind is the words "client from hell". Dunno if this is the case, but if so, I can understand why someone isn't bothering too much to give you something for free.

And by the way, I spent tens of thousands of dollars at the supermarket, and they still don't give me a free pack of Doritos, go figure... :Oh crap
