Shorter urls in WordPress?

How do you guys create shorter urls in WordPress? Some of my titles are long and I don't want the urls to be that long. Do you know of a solution?

Manually edit the URL string. There should be a button right by your title box. What version are you running?

Pretty Links is the best IMO. Search Wordpress plugins.
