Drive - what an over-rated piece of shit of a movie!

Seriously this movie sucks harder than my central vac.

What a piece of shit!

The storyline could have been used a lot better. Terrible cinematography from start to finish, suspense added where it doesn't exist and poorly done driving scenes make for an overall absolute waste of time.

anexsia 10-14-2011 07:41 PM

I loved it, It was something new.

cooldude7 10-14-2011 07:45 PM

yepp., it was complete bullshit.,

what a fag....he just keep on smiling, he didnt even fucked her on screen, i guess.,

but the actress's smile was nice.,

very slow movie.,

2MuchMark 10-14-2011 07:46 PM

Are you sure? IMDB gives it an 8.3 and reviews are good..! I wasn't going to see this movie but now I think I'll check it out.

TheSquealer 10-14-2011 08:05 PM

This movie was horrible. Maybe worth watching for something to do, but in terms of film making... shitty beyond description.

Jakez 10-14-2011 10:26 PM

Was looking forward to seeing this, since it seems like a love/hate, can't wait to see it even more lol.

Chosen 10-15-2011 01:18 AM

I'm still going to watch it :pimp

There is a lady suing the movie because there wasn't enough action in the movie - lol!

"As WDIV-TV in Detroit reports, Sarah Deming's suit claims that FilmDistrict and Emagine Novi Theater violated Michigan's Consumer Protection Act by releasing such a disingenuous advertisement for their driving-deficient crap-film. Drive "bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film ... having very little driving in the motion picture," states the lawsuit (which also alleges anti-Semitism). Deming wants her money back, and also "an end to misleading trailers" so that the American people get the goddamn blood-pumping thrills they pay for. She reportedly plans to go class action-style, so if you've ever been lied to at the cinema you can join her Crusade for Integrity at the Movie Places and share in the settlement (which will be somewhere between $0 and $1 zillion)."

Well... stupid lawsuit, but she's right. It's nothing at all like the trailers would have you think. In fact, it starts out with 2 robbers getting into the car and he's going to drive. As you're sitting there getting ready for an incredible opening chase scene.. he basically drives around the corner and hides under a bridge.

The whole movie is retarded from start to finish.

Dont go expecting anything you saw in the trailers.
NO car chases... lots of great cars but no chases to speak of.
And the fight scenes looked like something out of Troma.
I looked for Lloyd Kauffmans name in the credits.

That's why I said over-rated. It is pretty poor!

I would probably give it a 5 maximum. It tries to be clever and fails. So slow and the driving scenes are pretty lame.

He's flying down the streets changing gears (you can hear manual gear changes taking place) But he has both hands on the wheel.

There is one bit where is suppose to be pulling away from the cops in his Imapala, and the engine is doing a lot of revs and he can't catch up to the traffic.

The acting is piss poor.

I could probably go on.

Save yourself man, it is slow and doesn't speed up. Much like his Impala in the oppening scenece.

Sorry mate, this movie is poo and a piece of shit, but offers nothing of poo characteristics presented in visual form.

Although, I would much rather watch 2 hours of an actual piece of shit than watch that again.

There's some fucking stupid people that go to the movies. Anyone that really likes, and knows movies would think this was a great flick. If you have no patience, and like to get exactly what you thought it should be, based on your own lame expectations from the trailer, then you got what you deserved.

I wish more movies took their time, and didn't try to assault you with frantic editing, and everything spelled out for you. It's a throwback to late 70's/early 80's noir movies. Reminded me of an early Michael Mann movie, or some of Frankenheimer's work.

Bout time someone said it. They straight up said this movie was going for the more independent film tastes and didn't advertise it as anything else. If you're looking for a total action flick, then don't see this movie, problem solved. There's a reason it's getting many high reviews.

I don't understand people that get upset when the movie isn't like the trailer. If anything, you should be happy that you were surprised, and got something unexpected. There's no way to explain this to animals that have no clue about what is a good or bad movie. Some people have been watching movies since they were a child, and have seen 6,000 flicks, but have cultivated fuck all of any kind of sensibility as to what's a good flick.

Look genius... the movie isnt called "Great Instincts"... its "drive" not "Park under a bridge as the get away driver and hope for the best"

The trailers show it as being an action movie based on car chases, centered around the driver. Thats not what it is, simple as that. Of course people have expectations based on the marketing. Holy fuck man! Are you really that fucking thick? You are probably a guy who bought a Mercedes, found out it had a Volkswagen engine and tried telling everyone its a great engine and that anyone that expects a Mercedes engine in their Mercedes is dumb.

The movie itself.. its ok. It's worth watching when you have nothing else to do and don't mind wasting the money. It's not a great piece of film making. It's slow. It's poorly paced. It wanders. You keep waiting for the good part. The main character just isnt credible as a bad ass. His acting wasn't very good. The ending is retarded.

Wake the fuck up! The movie was called "Drive" and all the driving that took place in the film was a complete joke. Changing gears with both hands on the wheel, the sound effects were a joke. He doesn't move his hands off the wheel and the car is chaning gears.

Pretty sure a Chevy Impala doesn't come with a Padle shift gear box. It then happens again later in the film.

Then also in that first film, he has apparently got his foot to the floor and the engine is making a lot of noise and he can't even catch up to the traffic in front of him when he is suppose to be getting away from the cops.

Poor filming and poor sound.

Going for the Noir/Independant style? What does that mean? Making a film look as shit as possible and as boring as possible? Using an absolutely poor sound track? Having bad cinematics and making a complete joke of the subject matter you are suppose to be using as your main storyline?

I would say The American was a better watch than this.

So a movie is not like the 500 other movies you've seen, and that makes it bad? Slow doesn't mean it's bad. It's slow, but there's a lot going on, if you actually watch the movie, and don't fidget around like a 12 year old.

What is "the good part" to you. When someone gets shot or a car makes a vroom vroom?

People that just sit around going "this movie sucks", just because it wasn't matched with their expectations should realize that a lot of people liked the movie -- so that doesn't make you some kind of genius that knows something everyone else doesn't.

Another movie that retards won't be able to sit still for. Not great, but you just show how much business you don't have even talking about movies, when you call a movie like that crap. You having the attention span of a gnat doesn't mean a movie is crap.

Drive.

The guy was a stunt driver that had a second job as a getaway driver. His partner ran a garage, and used him as driver for his race car. There was a car chase in the middle of the movie where he had to drive a lot. He used a car to take out Ron Perlman -- that counts as driving. At the end of the movie, it fades to black as he's DRIVING.

There's a whole lot of fucking driving in the movie. But it's not about driving. It's a crime thriller centered around driving. The biggest "drive" in the movie was his drive to protect that girl and her kid, but many people wouldn't even see that. You're the same people that hated Fight Club because it wasn't really about fighting.

I said drive a lot but I'm trying to make a point. Those who say the movie was mis-sold to them are full of shit -- and anyway you're really not entitled to have movie be exactly what you want it to be.

I don't even know why I give so much of a shit -- I'm bailing on this one.

By the way Si, you're favorite movies are all my favorite movies too.

I think the start could have had more suspense or been less predictable.

I did like the idea of outsmarting the cops instead of going full throttle trying to get away. But the scene was lame because of them fatal flaws in the sound and the cinematics.

The story was good, but the execution was poor. The second job was too obvious that something would go wrong, and the minute I saw the girl I thought "she's going to fuck something up". Then the 300 with the black windows in the robbery scene was too obvious.

Just one of them things. Perhaps it is a love or hate movie. :thumbsup

Hopefully Killer Elite will be better when I get a chance to see that.

5 is rather generous for that piece of crap, at the end, Mrs Fubar and I looked at each other and said, when is the action gonna start ?:winkwink:
